After several of hours of grueling benchmarks I've come to the conclusion that 3dmark Doesn't test your systems true capability. I could nail 7000+ marks by using old drivers but with horrible quality. Now I tried aquamark and theres a test for both speed and quality. With the old "high scoring" drivers were lagging terribly. Example:

44.03 driver- 27,740
52.16 driver- 46,640

The quality of the new driver was tons better. So I say if you want true scores run aquamark and then compare. My FX5900 is running circles around my friends 9800 pro as far as benchmark scores. ( On the same computer of course.) That doesn't mean the FX is a better card. Here are all my scores using Both drivers.44.03 was the fastest.

3Dmark01- 16225 (44.03)
3Dmark01- 15655 (51.16)
3Dmark03- 7007 (44.03)
3Dmark03- 6148 (51.16)
Final fantasy XI- 4210 (44.03)
Final Fantasy XI- 5222 (52.16)

So clearly 3dmark only tests speed not quality or tech.

Athlon 2600+ @ 2.2 ghz.
