PCMark 2004 no longer applicable for hwboints.


As many of us know, PCMark2004 has become an aged benchmark application. ItÂ’s no longer being supported by futuremark, it does not run on most modern platforms, and has been replaced by PCMark 2005.
In order to keep competition fair, we will disable hwboints for submitted PCmark04 results. You can still submit PCMark04 scores and browse the hall of fame, it will just not affect your hwboint score.

Boy do I want to start oc'ing again. I'm just too lazy. Not to mention I need a few upgrades.

Yeah, they are basically punishing people for digging through their old hardware, overclocking the hell out of it, and taking time to post results.

That'll be why I lost about 10 points the other day. It runs on Core 2 Duo's if you know what your doing...

It's just a Core 2 Duo problem, the way it runs is by making the software believe that your running a single core CPU during one of the tests. It is a shame though, I lost ~8 points which was 10-15 places. I think I'm going to go on a holiday from benching for a while, when I slip out of the top 200 I'll start again.

Making these kind of decissions suck... but I still think we made the right one in the long run. Sorry.

Yepp, this sux0rs to the extreme. I'm gonna have to call AMD and make sure their new Barcelona has PCMark04 capabilitys. That way we an call hwbot intel fanboys....lol

I lost like 10 points on that one too. I lost fricken 20 points to SiSoft being removed. Aquamark is on its way out too. Can't wait till they drop 3DMark01 too......

I say they should have old hardware benchmarks, and new hardware benchmarks. Two different catogories, whereas the old stuff gets t use old benchmarks like 3DMark 99. Then you'd see the performance of the day, not the performance scaled back to un-pratical benchmarks.

I want SPEC view to be a hwbot benchmark. It's quite popular compared to SiSoft, and not easily manipulated.

They better not drop either of those that would be about 50 points if they got rid of those two (20 in 01 and 30 in Aquamark!)
