| PS2 / PS3 Hardware Sony's Playstation 3 will undoubtedly have a huge following much like the PS2. |

| well, i think banning should be used as a last resort. if its their first post, chances are they arn't coming back, so there isn't a need to ban the IP now...give them a chance to save face and come back to contribute...only when it becomes a repeated problem does it deserve a harsher penalty from Foe or Rob | ||

| LOL, too true GPN, I can be a bit "soft" on some of these peeps. But for sheer fact that they are never going to post here again (more than likely) there's no use wasting time banning someone that wouldn't come back anyways...I just wish there was a way to keep it from happening. Maybe putting a post "quota" before you can publish links in your messages... wait...that actually sounds like a good idea...say, you have to post at least 15 times before you're allowed to link things...at least, that would deter someone from posting this garbage right off hand... It seems that with my new occupation in RL (well..new since July...lol) i'm more apt to "deter" someone instead of outright "punishing" first timers... | ||

| Now that's a good idea, IMO. Just one loophole that I can think of... If we (by which I mean the fine folks that frequent this little piece of e-heaven) decide to make it so someone has to post "X" many times before they are allowed to link to another page(s), we might make the problem worse... Post whoring, I think it is called... On the other hand, if the mods/admins are up to it, they can decide who is worthy and who is not, based on the quality of the posts a person "perpetrates"... | ||

| true, but for most of these people, they're just post whoring to begin with, and I don't believe they have the attention span and effort to post 15-20 times (on different subjects, not just in one thread) before they post their "help me get this crap free" thread. Or maybe a day wait on account activation? I know it sucks, but lots of places do it. I know the MLB.com boards do, which really cuts down on heckling other team forums. granted, there are those persistant individuals who will do anything to get what they want...well...we'll deal with them accordingly ![]() what amazes me is these people actually think they're going to get a free techno gizmo...nothing is free. | ||
