Okay guys this is going to be a new section i'm going to try. As the name suggests this is where i'll be doing some previews of up coming games I'll be reviewing in the up coming weeks so lets get thing started.

Slashing its way into stores soon is Capcom's Samurai franchise Onimusha. This will be the fourth installment to the series which and has received a massive over haul from the last one. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams which is the title of hte new gamestarts off the next part of the saga with a bang and a clang. First off of the many changes is Nobunaga Oda is no longer the main enemy having been defeated and sealed in the oni gauntlet by the long time hero of the series Samanosuke. Now since Nobunaga is defeated the game no longer centers around Samanosuke but a new hero Soki the blue demon or the Black oni as he was refered to in the game a couple of times. The villian appears to be Nobunaga's former right hand man and new ruler of both Japan and the Genma Hideoshi Toyotomi. And naturally your mission is to kill Toyotomi and defeat the Genma to restore peace to the land of the rising sun.

The gameplay from the previous games stays intact you still have your sword and magic attacks and you retain the ability to become an onimusha. Though new rpg type elements have been introduce during the play I went to level three though since this is only a preview I'm not quite sure how this effects the character or weapons or magic as of yet. The level design has become much more interactive with breakable objects and buildings to a degree. The setting is still that of war time japan sorry no time traveling to the Modern time paris this time around. Another new and fun mechanic introduced to this game is now you control more than one person.

This time around Soki has friends and unlike the previous games where you switch characters between levels like in Onimusha 1 and 3, or they make quick cameos to help when your samurai butt handed to you like they did in Onimusha 2. The new characters once found or what the level gives you to choose from, You have the choice to either give orders to the AI partner or you can switch on the fly to that character and fight as them and let Soki follow your orders. This is a much welcome addition and will probably add to the replay vaule of the game once its released. Only two characters other than Soki was introduced at the end of the story mode preview. It was female swordswoman whose shares the name as the hero of the second onimusha game's hero Jubei Yagyu. It is not known if there is a connection between the two Jubei's at this time. The second character which is introduced in the opening movie appears to be one of the legendary oni warriors. This is the legendary red oni Tenkai and apparently he is some form of warrior monk as he wields a monks staff with the power of ice and launchs holy charms at the enemy.

Check back in a couple of weeks to get the full review to see if Capcom gives us another Samurai master peice or something that stinks worst than an Oni's back side by adding the new features to an already flawless game formula.

Sounds nice, only played Onimusha 3 before and it was pretty good :smile: so another Onimusha (one that sounds pretty cool so far and looks nice too) is nice :sneaky:
