| NEW Blog Worklogs! Earn revenue while showing your work! The PC Apex Member Blogs are now ready for use as a PC modding worklog repository! After quite a bit of tweaking the new system is tuned and ready to go... Why use the blog system for your worklogs? It will allow you to post your worklogs uninterrupted... keeping the comments separate from the actual worklog. This will make the worklog MUCH easier to follow. Readers will be able to see your different worklog projects easier as well since they will be grouped in your blog. PLUS, since the blog system has Google Adsense Revenue Sharing setup, you will earn 75% of the revenue generated from the Adsense ads on your blog! You just need to provide your Google Adsense ID in your blog Profile. So now you can earn a little extra cash while showing off your work; money towards some new hardware? The more people you have checking out your worklog, the more you can potentially make. Simple as that. Here are some basics to using the blog system for your worklog: 1) You need to upload all the pics you intend to use in the worklog. To do this click on the "Create Content" link in the right navigation menu and then click "Image" for the content type. "Title" is the name/brief description of the pic (something that will allow you to pic it out of a list easily), (optional) select Modding Image Gallery, browse to the full-size pic to upload (the image thumbnail will be made for you automatically), then in the large edit area you can add a pic description/caption for the image and then submit it. Repeat this process for all images. 2) Go back to the "Create Content" link in the menu and this time select "Blog" for the content type. This is where you will create the actual worklog. When you need to add an image you have uploaded click this image: . It will open a popup window that will allow you to select the image from a list. In the next window you have some control over the way the image is displayed. For the "Link" selection I recommend "Link to image page" since adsense views are things you want more of . For the "Insert Mode" you need to select "HTML Code". When you are inserting images this way I recommend that you select the "Input Method" for the post (located under the main post window) as HTML. Before you submit the article, make sure you have Project Worklog selected as category and below the main post window, make sure you have Project Worklogs selected as the comment forum to the create the feedback thread in. NOTES: Whenever you want to break the post into another page (worklogs can get very long so please use good judgment when breaking up new pages. More page views are good, but pages that are too short will frustrate people) use this code: PHP Code: Those are the basics! Whenever you want to add more to the worklog, upload the new pics like you did before and then edit your original blog worklog post to add the new content. After you add the new updates, leave a new comment in the feedback thread to let everyone know that they are there. Once you give this a good try I REALLY think you won't ever go back to the old way. | ||
