did you set the rear fan as an intake?the ex is getting the same box,and it has only the slit under the front usb door for intake.

you can hide the hard drive better by turning it around so the cables are tucked in the front of the case

Good call on the network boot...forgot about that...

Could be booting from a USB pen drive...IBM sells thumb drives that fit into USB slots...they are actual hard drives with gigs of capacity that are about the size of a thumbnail...he could be using one of those too...
