| Hello everyone this will be my third comp mod. My freind got some money for his birthday and is thinking of building himself a cmoputer for his room. Since i love building and modifying things i have decided to donate some parts.(case, lighting, fans ec.). The case will be painted professionly in a booth. I also have a freind who does AMAZING flame work with an airbrush. i Will be clear coating both outside and inside. This is a budget mod so i wont be spending alot of money to help him out. The computer will bassically be used for MSN and counter strike source. I will post pictures as soon as i start terring it apart if anyone has any ideas let me know. | ||

| Start with "Manage Attachments" then find the file you want to post and attach it... It should then show up at the bottom. Then copy the link, close the attachment page, click on the Icon "Insert image" in the tool bar, and paste it there. When you submit the reply, it should show up like mine Quick and dirty, if you need more help, let us know... P.S. it realy drove me nuts at first, don't feel bad! | That's a very common case, I've used a few of those for customer's computers I've built over the years. The good thing is, it has some nice curvy lines, as well as being quite plain-looking, so you can do a lot of fun stuff to it. In other words, it makes a nice blank slate to start with. You could start by improving the exhaust fan airflow by cutting out the area at the back where the fan goes, this would be very easy just by cutting from hole-to-hole where the fan's supposed to mount, then filing the rough areas smooth when done. Toss the zip-ties while you're at it. Below the front blue triangle-thing (the control panel as it were), you could cut out an intake fan with a hole saw. Another idea could be to remove the blue piece and fill in the whole area with Bondo, to make a nice smooth front, with the exception of the switches themselves. And of course, as previously mentioned, some kind of window on the side panel would be something to do and teach yourself how to cut sheetmetal. | ||

| Those open drive bays are begging for a 120MM intake fan! Get out the dremel and add another 120MM exh fan in the rear. You could also add one on the top of the case, often called the blow hole. Look for fans with or without LED's that flow well, you can always turn them down with a fan controller if too loud. Find some slick looking grilles and you will be looking and feelin' cool Any colors you have in mind? Orange, Purple, Gold, Silver?? Check this stuff out at House of Kolor! http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/news...centFlakes.jsp http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/news/IceTurquoise.jsp Crazy PC has some nice modding goodies at reasonable prices, it's a good place to start! 120MM fans http://www.crazypc.com/products/fans...s.htm#120x25mm EDIT: Coel's post was not up there when I started my post, but it sounds like we were thinking along the same lines somewhat, that case has lots of potential! | ||

| thinkin of paint schemes y dont u use a a militray based design (camo of somesort) since one of the main uses will b counterstrike ... or a black and green (to represent night visionn googles... ) use counterstrike fan grills ..theres quite a variety available .... http://www.jab-tech.com/Laser-cut-Co...d-pr-2027.html or doin something simple like etching the cs logo on the window clan name or the silhouette of his fav gun ... juz a few suggestions hope they help ... | ||

| Call me crazy but that intake on the front, together with the blue part (switches?) almost looks like an evil looking "face"... I'd leave that front "as is" put some lighting behind that front intake to make it stand out more... a good painter/airbrusher could further "empasize" this "evil face" look..... To keep a decent airflow in this case I'd cut a 120mm hole in the bottom of the case (use feet) and a 120mm blowhole in the top panel, both aligned... of course, that exhaust in the rear should be cut to a perfect hole.... The side panel just seems to be destined for a window... you can 'cut straight out, following the recessed metal! Just a few ideas... it's a case with potential, imho... TDR | ||

The easiest way to make a quiet air-cooled case is by using one 120mm intake fan and one 120mm exhaust fan. If your airflow within the case is clean and tidy, adding more case fans is pretty much unnecessary. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
