This is my first offical worklog!

After a recent dissapointment with an acrylic case I went back to the drawingbroad and came up with a project based around a tattoo and some old work i did in graphics.

I am going to florida for a week but I figure If I put up my brainstorm session I might be able to get some Ideas for when I get back to help me along alittle more

I will be starting with a Thermaltake Armor Series Case http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase.../va8000bws.htm


This is some of the brainstorming I have so far

The inside will be painted also there wont be any metal showing. For lighting Im going to be doing orange and red on the inside and im leaning twards a custom base. There will be a 4inch color LCD (if i cant find a 6inch I like) mounted on the side. The reverse Side will have a picture of my tattoo with some writing havent decided if i want to airbrush it or do a custom window etch of it.

Once I get the case In I will decide and do artwork for the front as it seems to be a mesh and im not sure what im going to do with it yet.

The top might get either a fan or be left blank for some of my water cooling gear later on.once again there is stuff on the top of the case I want to see in person and then do up artwork for.

Feel free to leave any suggestions as to what you think

BTW here is a pic of the tattoo which will be going on the oppisite side of the windows

Back from Florida ordered all my parts now just need to wait for them to get in >.< damn the UPS!!

Havent had much action on my brainstorm session lol was hoping for a few ideas but while I was in florida I had a few.

Going to take the inside and give it a nice glass like finish which I think combined with the lights inside it should give a nice effect.

As for the bottom I have some LEDs I can mount for alittle underglow effect.

Really need to get my case in to give it the once over and figure out what will fit and what wont

My only design problem is the LCD which I need to wait till I recieve my case to find out how im going to cut into the window or maybe mount it into the front of the case.

Feel free to drop me any suggestions or ideas

i really like the mirror finish idea i think that will looks very nice with lighting....maybe you could use a dark red or orange to really make your paint job on the outside panels stand out

Well tried the polish idea but there isnt enough metal showing in the window for it to be useful =(

Ill post some pics later of what you can see I think Im going to be going with a black finish inside and a red uv clear coat since the polish idea didnt work out.

Waiting for pricing on my vinyl for the side compared to me airbrushing it (got alot of work and dont know how long it will be till i can get to it)

My mobo and processor came in w00t!!! waiting until the 20th for my zalman heatsink >.<

Ok attached is a picture to show you the size of this beast. It is infront of a futon if this shows how tall it is. My friendly UPS driver almost gave me a heart attack as he juggles my Mobo Cpu and Case down my driveway

I tried to polish the inside but after doing alittle bit I realized that the windows covered most of the metal. It was a good idea but this window and case just arnt a good combo for the idea. =(

So back to the drawing board I went.

Since the outside is going to end up a mix of orange red yellows I decided the inside needed to be orange to really make it kinda blend into the outside which I hope will give a nice visual effect to kinda trick your eyes and hopefully blend into one another

The case comes with Harddrive cages attached is a pic of one of them When i finish the rest of the case I will post the pictures.

Once I get my Photoshop and computer back up and running I will post better pics

I finished painting the chassie!!

I went with a nice metalic orange on the whole inside. I used duplicolor automotive paint.

I started by preping the metal with 1000 grit sandpaper. After everything was preped came rubbing it all down with alchol.

It took me 2 cans of paint to cover all of the inside an the HD cages I put on around 5 coats with 3-4 coats of the clear coat.

Have to pay some bills this week so wont be getting the lcd for alittle >.<

Case is all together with the mobo and HDD/cages all inside!

Just ordered the PSU and some lazer led (i didnt like the way the CC looked inside)

I was sitting thinking I dont have enough room for it all and since most of my cash went into building the case I thought why not build a desk as well

Dont mind the wires under the desk im going to clean those up.

The pic of the small round button is my KVM switch which is hidden under the desk mmwwaaahhh

Ignore the picture on the tv that is not me getting power lvled by farmers
(got to love being able to say party me please in chinese)

Anyway the PSU led and heatsink should be in by the end of this week and all that I am missing to finish the beast is a graphics card
