Default Mac to mod mini project

Im willing to bet everyone sees the name Mac and goes " How dare there be anything mac on here!" and honestly I dont blame you and actually agree. Anyway heres my project. By the time I finished building my rig "The Green Machine" i was so broke that I couldn't even afford a monitor. So i went to a surplus sale my college has every month and picked up a Powermac Studio Display for only $15. I felt it would do me until i could afford to buy a LCD. Well, I am tired of having this apple atrocity sitting so close to my rig so i decided it was time to un-mac it. I stripped the covers off and started playing around with painting. Here was we have so far....

The red-headed step child before.

Apple? whats an apple?? Filling those emblems in....

Front Bezel painted black from the inside

body, again painted inside; body, again painted inside

All your base.....

and the back of the body.

Since apple like making things clear, I used this and painted the inside instead of the outside. Turned out well. I had the idea that I may etc the GreenMachine logo in the body by etching away the black paint from inside.

Any idea or thoughts how i could un-mac this monster?

Well if your so obsessed with un-MACing it. I would definitely get rid of all the apple logos. But I would have done that before painting.

Heh you cant remove the mac from mac. Good luck though. Replace the apple logo with a winblows logo.

its a bit delayed but ill finally post the outcome. Nothing spectactualr but it definately looks less Mac like. No more whitish light colored crap. But it should not matter in a few weeks when I order my LCD. Anyways, on to pics....

my first display was even cheaper, someone was chucking away a 13" CRT at the dump and I manged to get it from them for free... sure it caught fire when my dad left it on all night once.. and it gave me migranes with its 55hz refresh rate at 640x480...

damm I hated that screen

Anyway nice mod I would much prefer a black crt to that white translucent plastic stuff.
