Default 2000 Jeep Cherokee PC Mod

This is my new Project in Case moding. Myself and one of my friend that runs a custom car shop and spent time in the military. We came up with desktop computer installed in the back of a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. The computer consist of ASUS motherboard, 4 gig of Crucial Ram, 2 300 gig western digital hard drives, thermal take water-cooling system, Kenwood 8" drop down monitor in the front of the vehicle, external DVD Dual Layer R/RW, Remote start up, 512mb ATI video card, Rockford Fosgate Amp. 600 watts and 2 8" xXx subwoofers. We have spent 43 hrs on this project and still under construction. Cost as of right for the material and Cpu is $5000.00. We are still not done we will be laying black vinyl.

Are the HDD mounted so that they are 'free floating' not attached to frame so the constantly get knocked around?

How are the computer components shielded from the subs?

Just a suggestion, replace the tray drive with a slot load optical drive.

Unless its AL or copper, steel wont do anything to an electromagnetic feild. Infact, the steel might get magnetized and become a magnet

But Nice job! Im still wondering how long the IDE cable is for that DVD drive..

EDIT- NVM, Its external, I didnt read fully.

EDIT2- What kind of CPU?

Nice stuff dude
How does the DVD drive perform?
I recall that the IDE cables can lose signal if they're too long

I'd be a little concerned at the shock transmission to the HDD's - they are delicate devices that don't like being moved around whilst in action - A solid-state drive would be ideal (and cost as much as the entire system though!) however, I'm guessing that the cherokee won't be hitting too many bumps on the smooth roads - right?

Anyway - it's looking good! Welcome to PC APEX!

Its external, aka USB. I forgot how long a USB cord can be before it starts degrading..If its good sheilded cable it wont lose alot of the signal.
