Default Project: Flames 'n Pinstripes

Here is my first post as a member of PCAPEX, and it's also the first post on my upcoming project:

FLAMES 'N PINSTRIPES

The case itself & a few images I would like to see on it on the future:
project_flames_n_pinstripes-afb000.jpg
project_flames_n_pinstripes-racerwheel1797812672235nd.jpgproject_flames_n_pinstripes-tribal_tattoo_11376957522973.jpg

Further, I want to make a sort of turbine in front of it, a mesh top, and a gloss black finish to the whole case, with purple flames.

I'm from Holland by the way so excuse my regular grammatical mistakes....

Welcome to PCAPEX.

I've got the same case you do, and I'm working on a turbine mod as well. I've got most of the easy work done, and I just need to finish the bondo work, sand, and paint it.

Just put up a little ad on the internet to gather some cash for my modding stuff.

Little micro-atx case (might be nice for HTPC).

This is by the way a bit of inspiration for my project: project_flames_n_pinstripes-9088011100_purplehotrod1.jpg

That's about the color for the flames, I'm still thinking about a duplicolor mirage effect, but that might be too much, since I'm now (at this very moment) sleeving my wires in a UV-Blue reactive sleeve, and the fatter wires in black.

Just finished putting the wires in Uv-reactive mesh, picture: project_flames_n_pinstripes-afb001.jpg

What do you guys think?

Ow yeah, I was thinking about either painting the psu, or giving it a plexi cover, anyone got pictures of either one, so I can compare... I'm thinking black gloss for mine, so if yours is, post a picture please...

If you don't already know about this little thing called Folding@Home here is some info about it.

OUR GOAL
Understanding how proteins self-assemble ("protein folding") is a holy grail of modern molecular biophysics. What makes it such a great challenge is its complexity, which renders simulations of folding extremely computationally demanding, and difficult to understand. The Stanford group has developed a new way to simulate protein folding. However, this method is extremely computationally demanding and they need our help.
For more info about it stop by F@H's home page here.

With that in mind you should read up on our team Team PCApex linkage. It is a great way to help humanity and PCApec alike.

Thanks @ all!

Great to hear that there are tons of people willing to lend a hand at some points...

Tomorrow I'm gonna cut 2 blowholes in the top panel, and one in front of the case.

And for the window in the side, I have no idea for a shape, but I have got two panels with pinstripings engraved in them, will post a pic with backlight later this evening (yes it's evening here)

Should look pretty sweet.

Thanx again!

Did some cutting today, I WAS thinking about one top fan, now I have four holes.....

And made the cutout for the turbine look in frontproject_flames_n_pinstripes-afb002.jpg

project_flames_n_pinstripes-afb003.jpg

Now for sanding, and prepping for some black gloss paint!

Still no update on the windows, I recently moved out of my parents house, the windows are still there, somewhere....

I'll keep you posted!

Just finished painting, whoow...

The black should turn out just fine.

also cut out a window, and fitted one with engraved pinstripe.

The pinstripe should look awesome with some neon behind it.
Will post very soon (as in tonight) .

Next up is laying down the flames and painting them.

Stay tuned!
