If you have the room, go with the 120. The only reason I say that is because you can slap a much beefier fan on there that will push a hell of a lot more CFM than a 92 would but still remain damn near silent. It really doesn't require a whole lot of airflow to do it's job.

I know watercooling is tres cool. But now with the advent of these current generation heatsink/heatpipe combo's you won't realize any performance benefit by sticking with water. As you and I both well know, there is a definite risk when you pump water across electrical components. Sticking with air negates that risk.

There are some mods that scream for water though. If yours is one of them, I understand. Me, I see phase change in the near future. Wanna talk cool?

Im thinking of ditching my current Alphacool setup to get a Noctua.

As BA said, water cooling is tre cool, but I go where the performance is.

Plus the darn high flow pump keeps me awake at night

I got a phase here...You are welcome to try it if you pay shipping.
it hits -65
will fit on top of the case with the custom stand I built...and looks damn impressive as well.

You really got me thinking that Noctua is the answer now.....DAMN YOU...lol

I had the water cooling all planned out...red tubing and all.

And you know my history...I water cool EVERYTHING!!!
lol

I agree with your rationality on the new hsf's on the market.
They have deffinately come a long way...but how about waters ability to slow the idle to load temp?
think the Air can perform on par with that?

I re-read your review...And I have to say it is impressive.

As you said DW, impressive. You know me, I wouldn't pimp it unless I believed it. Noctua can't even afford to advertise in the U.S., but I'll do it for them because I believe in what they have.

Like I said, some rigs scream for watercooling. Yours may be one of them. But if you are looking at the price VS performance aspect, I think you know which way to go.

You still got that rig from Zen? Does that phase change cooler still work? Yeah, I will have to work out a deal with you to get my hands on that.

I do have it...it still works...and your welcome to give it a run....like I said you pay shipping...or work out a trade...and shes yours....I even have some new foam comming in from Chilly one as we speak.
I had it made to a small enough form factor that it will fit in a large tower....or mount on top.
Its a very nice unit...Ill get you some pics tommorow.

Yeah I have the water gear already...But I was just looking at the case and loving its sweet simplicity....
You know my water setups can be nice...but they sure do complicate the case.

That looks awesome. Just those blue LED's on your motherboard look so out of place to me.

Damn those guys @ Voyeurmods did a sweet ass job on those cuts! That case looks pimp, even without the hardware.

LOL yupp...thats why its easier to have someone else do that cutting...
No way in holy hell I could have done those by myself...not looking that clean.
When your hacking on an expensive case like the v1000 It's nice to use the Profesionals to do that part...LOL

UPDATE!!!!

SHES GOT JUICE!

I know there has been a lot of talk about getting the air cooling improved...And I still intend to run that route for a test....

However...getting a noctua in my hands can take two weeks I was told....

I have some testing to do on bigger numbers and time is running out...

So behold...I give you WATERCOOLING...in true DIGI form....

I am not known around here for crazy kick ass mods that literally change the face of modding...ThatÂ’s Bill over at MNPCTECH's job...lol

But most people do know me as the guy that makes them look clean and functional all at once.

I think you will be truly happy in the latest incarnation of water-cooling I have created. Simple-Clean-and VERY functional.

SheÂ’s running a TDX from the Den....a DD5 12v pump...Black Ice Extreme Rad (Chrome) and Round Res for that special hole up top...Of course lots of red Primo tubing. Or lack there of...LOL

The temps are finally under control...and last night she booted to a whopping 4.4 GHz in windows....while running a 28 second PI time....

For a dually thatÂ’s kicking.

Anyway I will leave you with some pics....

There is still a small amount of wire sleeving and management to do but I think you will enjoy the outcome.

I made a custom wire cover on the back side out of the front fan grill dust cover....as well as relocated the Hard Drive cage to give the pump and RAD a place to live....

As always let me know your comments and suggestions

Okay....Another update.....

Got the Res mounted from Voyeurmods as you saw in the previous posts.....

Well the most kick ass idea came to mind...And thanks to the kick a$$ folks at DRAGONMODZ I got some Dragon Ware to add to this pimp project....You can check them out HERE For a mere Three or Four bucks for the four packs depending on size...or .75 cents to a whopping whole dollar for single pieces....How can you go wrong? Hell a cup of joe at the gas station costs more these days....LOL...These things are the ULTIMATE edition to the case....I think they really PIMP out the res in a very cool way.....I added a UV Fan ring under the res to light up the red UV PCICE......and it made the color almost a glowing purple in the res when you look at it the right way....

Anyway if you don’t have these spikes...GET OVER THERE AND GET YOU SOME...ASAP.....
You can get the black mesh used in this project there as well......
Don't forget to tell em DIGI sent ya.....

Here are some more GLAM pics for ya to drool on....SCHWEEET>.....

What are your temps? (I might have missed if you put it in your previous post, I didn't get time to read all the posts)

But damn that is gorgeous. A job well done .

Nice use of the Dragonmodz spikes. I have to say your project is looking great! Did you get any benches with the two cards yet? The partner I was looking for arrived and I should have it on the testbench and running this weekend.
