another idea for a res for the water cooling would be this.

Im wondering that since we have 3 huge cases......we could make this into a little bit of a competion? West coast, Mid west, and East coast could be the teams, and we'd have 2 months to finish. At the end of the 2 months PC Apex members could vote and that case would be deemed the winner. Just an idea, but it might mix it up a little.

The only problem would be the Gear that GK has reserved for us. Maybe once the winner is decided we could throw the gear in it? Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for buttin in on the action.

Ok so we have some good ideas here so lets see what we got.
Purple and Gold Color Scheme
Some Custom Tribal Window (Lokie you watching this any ideas?!)
Watercooling - Possibly AntiM's custom h2o maybe?!?!?!
Turbine - mnPcTech style possibly?!?!

Nice idea! The teams can compete for the initial phase which will be the bare case and once a winner is declared the H/W will be shipped to that team.
Another idea regarding the design could be a transparent PSU cover and paint the internals with UV reactive paint. maybe even wrap a can of pimpjuice around the capacitors

We need to start getting some concrete concepts. Any pimps who can rock photoshop should start hacking up some of these monster cases, see what we can come up with, keeping in mind all lthe input we have gotten so far.

OMG that case is da tits!... maybe some bondo on the dent, or can be cut-out w/ window!

I can donate some cash to offset costs for the project, since most of the components I have on hand are slated for an upcoming build. Let me know when and in what direction to send it.

Also, I realize it seems like the theme is headed in a purple / gold direction, but if any custom parts are needed and the team would like to see them made out of carbon fiber, give me a shout.

This isn't going to be a competition. This will be members uniting together with one common goal of building a tribute to Pimprig. Its going to be fun! No pressure to meet deadlines!

I'm going to assemble the team of Moddin Pimps. I'm contacting these individuals offlist. I'll annouce their names here in a week or so. I need to confirm these members can commit to the project before announcing their names. Its not neccessary to suggest names here anymore.

The team will discuss and build the project in a joint PCApex worklog. You'll watch us brainstrom the ideas and suggestions you've made here in the team's worklog. The team will have suggestions and ideas as well. This thread will serve as the discussion thread for the team's worklog

Unless I need to make any additional annoucements here, I'll be back after the team has been assembled.

Love the idea of carbon fibre! would look totally PIMP along with the gold and purple...

Glad to hear its not going to be a competition... that wouldnt be what this is about. Although... some time in the future that could be quite a cool think to have... some kinda of competition with the prize supplied by one of these new nig name sponsors we are going to get with the new name :wink:

I know I'm not the only one to feel that with Bill heading this up, we are in for a wild ride and an extremely PIMPin' case!

As for anyone thinking a PS1 screen is superior to a Matrix Orbital, please check out their site. I have a Matrix in my HTPC case, and besides the LCD output, the Matrix has a ton of other features, such as the ability to control 3 fans, give 4 temp probe readings, run an LED indicator bank, and all in a reliable software-inclusive package that is trusted enough for use in industrial servers. Yeah, it's that good, and decidedly PIMP!

Im with Bill totally. Im going to let him or the modders decide which case they want. I think for now all we can really do is wait on Bill to come back to us with the names of the people. Once that is done we can get some photoshop ideas up and some real brainstorming going.

I'm not sure what else is needed here. I know I can picture what a PimpRig case should look like. Bill has the right idea with a deep Purple metal flake. There is a thin line between pimped and garish. I'm on board for whatever.

I am trying to play catch up and have read the entire thread up until this point and Wordbiker already voiced DragonModz is behind this and I am really likeing where this is going.

My one suggestion for this is that the worklog be made a no post thread but to those who are involved to minimize the posts to the team posts which I am sure GK can do within vB.... This will make cause for a cleaner worklog for those who catch on to it later in the game and want to read through it.

Yo Bill you have my vote of confidence... And I am looking forward to this..

To everyone who's contributing hardware, money or otherwise.... My hats off to you... I have been on PR since late 2002 and have been a loyal member since then. I have seen other forums and such but I never stay... just go to look at a work log or two.... PimpRig is my home and PcApex will continue to be my home.. Kinda like painting your house.... Its still the same inside..... just a lil differant outside....

Man, this looks like it's gonna be a great project. I know I will not be able to help with the actual modding, but I'd like to help in some way. So, if we end up needing any fans for this mod and they aren't donated, consider them purchased by me.

Just let me know what I need to do. I would be honored to be a part of this project in any way.
