Well I cant edit my post to add on a poll so if an mod sees this can they do it for me? We got the case here or this one or the one by higtechredneck so ya'll decide. I think DLoney had a good idea, shipping the case around will get expensive and there is a chance it will break. Like DLoney said everyone just do a mod on something and they sent it all to someone who will put it together. What do ya'll think?

That sounds like the best approach to take. This will take a lot of planning then, and most likely a lot of voting, every aspect will need to be debated and voted on, then assigned, and then modded, then shipped and installed. This will take a while, but it should be funa as h3||. HTR's mamath case will prolly suit our needs the best, thats my vote.

The purple/gold paint job, and hydrolic theme sound pimp as well! Lets make this thing high tech (more-so than computers already are...)

I stickied the thread. Ok, well who will be heading up this mod project? It needs to be someone with proven experience and at least one or two COMPLETED worklogs under their belt.

I got some good news... Matrix Orbital is up for donating a display for the project. The ideas here are real good. We just need to put the project in the hands of someone who will do it justice and bring it on home!

What about some pimps meeting together and working on it?

I have a monster case that I can donate but will require a lot of work. It's also heavy as hell.

Thanks nkuzia, Honored to get a recommendation, but 2 reasons that I don't think I'd be suitable:

1, I'm a n00b - i've only done 2 mods ever

2, I live on the other side of the earth form most of you folks - in New Zealand - (we have a little sub-island called Australia off to the left of us)

In no particular order, some people I'd like to see do this (no pro-modders in this list, mnpctech_guy, GK Defyant and tribaloverkill would be obvious choices... well, not GK - it kinda wouldn't be right doing your own tribute case ) would be:

Beachbum86 (might be busy with moving and getting into his new job though)
Grandpanoob72 (might be worn out from all that polishing )
The Great Satan (shipping out soon though - and, well... the theme may not be evil enough )
SlackerXL
Prime-Evil

I'd love to do it though

No disrespect to any modder here, but to do this case the absolute best justice, and if we can get him to do it, I say we get MNPTECH_GUY!!!

I don't think one individual should be elected for the entire job.

I would like to assemble and oversee a team for this project. It would consist of modders that have a long standing reputation with pimprig first. I will personally contact these individuals first and ask before listing any names here. I'll need a few days

Logistics:

If a portion of the build requires it to be shipped to another member who specializes in one area like paint, powdercoating etc,I'll cover the shipping costs if its deemed neccessary. I do ship customized cases on a regular basis ..If a team member is overseas, they can contribute by shipping their portion of completed work to us at thier cost.

My tentative thought is to divide the team into 2 groups, first group to mod the case and the second to oversee installation of everything donated.... and overclock it! The 2nd team could be just one individual too.

Red02, it was your idea that intiated this project. I will count on you to continue overseeing that this thread is kept alive!, organize the appropriate polls and keep running tab of everything donated. We may also need you to pre-test donated hardware. PM me if you have any issues with this.

We've got 3 solid "monster tower" donations so far... You guys rawk!

I'd like to continue waiting and see what else surfaces. I request that the team of modders makes the final decision on what we mod, not by member poll. Some designs present more room for artistic license than others. Being that several people are gonna have input on the design, I want the case to have minimal obstruction to that.

If this goes through, I'll need to talk to GK about giving everyone on the team a means to communicate here... possibly a subforum

Thats my proposal.

sweet bill that sounds awesome.
ill do what i can to whatever is needed for the project.

givin my current situation, modding time is minimal, but on the flip side, i have access to ALOT more materials to contribute to the project.

for the case, my vote isnt picky so whatever the majority wants, thats my vote.

And my vote for this threads leaders are Bill and Red02. So between the two, materials, costs and contributers should be well organized : )
(pending your approval)

I second that notion!

long time PR members should definitely have first dibs - I mean, without them, where would the site be now?

I'm keen to help where I can - no worries about the shipping (so long as it's not a whole case/chassis ) - I'll find a way to get stuff over to y'all if need be

Oh - I also second BB's vote for Bill and Red to lead this!

Very sound proposal Bill.

I for one would be honored to follow your and Red's lead on this project. I think you know that Dragonmodz will lend a hand in any way we can.

Sounds like a winning plan to me Bill! I can most likely get the stuff you guys dont have covered as far as parts and supplies. For communication amongst the team I can arrange an email address where you send an email to it and it goes to all members on the team. All I need are the email addresses.

Unless there are no serious objections (you better speak up NOW) lets move on your plan, Bill. Start forming your team and let me know what you need from me to get this project smokin'. I gotta say I am honored that you would spend the time to head this up for us.

Well, I rummaged and didnt find much, but heres what I got to donate if needed:

--> 1 Big Server case (a little dirty but i'll clean it up, and a dent on the side, also I have the turbo and reset panel that goes below the bottom 5.25" slot):

And I've got this pile of random stuff (zip 100 drive, switches, artic cooling mx-1 cpu paste, screen from a portable TV, etc etc) I'll throw up for donation, although it will most likely not be needed

I think that we should start brainstorming and gathering ideas for the design.
So far we have:
Color scheme - gold and purple
Case size and form factor - monster tower
Watercooling

I would like to suggest the following:
Gold sleeving of wires
A faux fur hat

Casters with spinners
A turbine fan in the front - a really big one like this
