well when i get my tax return i can give 3 sticks of 256mb of ram, 2 or pc 2100, 1 is pc3200, or i can donate a 1 gb kit (2x512) pc 3200.

i like the server idea too.

there is a black server case for sale in the trading post last time i checked. for 75$ +shipping. i can pitch on some of that but not much....like 25 bux or so.

if we do a game server, i have a 15k rpm scsi drive i can donate if i can find it. 18gb i think. just need to get a controller card.

Second to address what mnpctech brought up, I would rather see what every one wants to do and not just make one choice for everyone. I say we vote for which case we want, I would be all for the Server idea rather then the other two options.

I quickly just read threw this forum up to this date, and I wasn't sure if you had yet dicided on a case. I saw that a few were looked at but have you made your final dicision? Server or non premod? I wasn't sure.
You said that you would want something more basic so that you can do all of your own modding and whatnot, and I have an older case here that I had just picked up so I will be willing to donate it.. Let me know if your interested and I can post some pics.

I was thinking along the lines of this case prob, and i see a window:
- no case is big enough for pimprg, so instead of looking in all the basements, lets pull a Whore, and bodge a couple together. We already have three cases up for the taking, the fat lil red thing might not work out, but the other two might..

anyways, just trying to think up some alternative routes here, I don't have that much extra mod shiz/money, but i can find ways to help, gimme a shout if you need anything.

yeah that would work perfect.

what about a purple candy with gold flake, then have gold accents all over like a Low-ra-der. and sleeve the water tubes with chrome sleeving to represent hydrolic lines, and the water pump...well that could be the hydrolic pump and make a couple cheap resurviors and paint them silver to represent hydrolic cyclinders.

do like a pimp-mobile theme, cut up the front bezel and make a '80 regal grill or somthing with intake fans behind it..

just brain storming.

Id like to contribute something to this project, just let me know what you need done. I was thinking of the fading eyes circuit, with a couple more leds though, or maybe a LCD mod of some kind..(see T's work log)

I can offer my services, but I just want to know ahead of time so I can buy the stuff.

I really like the idea of a true community project were everyone is participating, but I see some problems, shipping the case around (even if it is only to a few people) will get very expensive, and there is an possibility for damage… So, why don’t the people involved decide on an overall look of the case and then assign specific parts to different people (example of this would be for ‘person A’ to mod a DVD Burner with an window on top, and then have ‘person A’ ship it to ‘person B’ were he will install it into the case) This will save a few hundred dollars on shipping that could be used on parts… Again, just tossing ideas out here, I am new here, so take what I say with an grain of salt. You guys are an great inspiration, and if there is anything I can do to help, I will be more than willing to help, as my current project should be done by the end of the week.

If this case isnt watercooled its not a true representation imo. Therefore i donate 1 D4 pump, barely used and in great shape. Also depending on the socket mobo we get, i might have the block we'll need. Are we gonna go with a heatercore or rad? If we go with a heatercore ive got a dually that makes for some sweet temps and makes the Black Ice Extreme 2 look like an easy bake oven.

I like the idea of hydraulics...but why not do real hydros? The type made for model cars are probably not strong enough for a tower, but I'm sure stronger motors, or even miniaturized components could be found. If lifting the case is too much, then perhaps a lifting and spinning cover?

All pretty silly ideas, but they'd definitely set this mod apart from the crowd. I can see it now: fans with spinners, crushed velvet, blingy gold-plated hardware. Oh yeahhh
