Nope, I am going to go with the specs already posted which should be ample for a server application. I should be able to run a couple game servers at one time without a problem.

here is the final parts list for both rigs! Everything is ordered in in route for delivery tomorrow! I had to pay a little extra for the overnight shipping but the extra couple days to work on the system can be a HUGE benefit with a deadline so close. Have you noticed that I often cut project REALLY close to the deadline? heh.

Yup, I sure am! I plan on running two at a time at least... I jsut need to setup some of the more popular ones. Maybe with a fun mod or two. Got any suggestions?

Since each board has dual gigabit NICs, I will be making a custom sized crossover cable and networking the two PCs in the case directly. Gigabit to Gigabit NIC is about as fast a connection as you can get between two networked PCs (unless you get into really exotic and expensive alternatives). It will be interesting to have a 0 ping while playing in the servers I am hosting.

That would be pimptastic. That would be a damn fast connection. Now you just need to upgrade to dual 1207 quad cores..... Watercooled.

Sorry no mod ideas form me, been too busy with real life to get into games like I did back in the golden days. I only play UT2K4 now and then.

How about some superhi res pictures? Need to set some of these up for wallpapers...Maybe incorporate some shots into banners and such?

Looks like I need to wait till tomorrow. There was a small snag and the stuff shipped out today instead of yesterday.

Gzim: That is definitely planned. once everything is final I will take some good pics for use in banners, wallpapers, etc. I will probably feature a shot of PC Apex logo side in the site header graphic.

EDIT: WOOHOO! The parts just arrived... time to get to work!

The Q6600 that arrive is a B3 stepping sho it should OC well. I was hoping for a G0 stepping from what I have read but since I am using very capable water cooling it shouldn't be that big of an issue. I am crossing my fingers that this one OC's well. I am looking to AT LEAST hit 3GHz speeds.

Wow, so far I have had to do a little tweaking on the res mount for the server mobo in order to get the 8800GTX to fit... it is a good thing I did not go SLI since the second card would not fit with the way everything is setup right now. I will have some pics posted later today since I needed to charge the batteries for my camera.

That is the best looking case I have ever seen! Sweet azz hell....words just don't mean anything.....Wish I could see it in person!
