I just got this new case:


Is an alienware looking like case and it was Free!!! Overall ist pretty standar, it came whit a 450wts PSU that I'm going to use


As you can see there is a lot of space Inside, wich is nice to really work on routing the wires.



as I said before pretty standar. it has space to fit 2 80mm fan on the back, and 2 more on the lower front of the case..(the first thing on this project will be to get rid of those grills)
So heres is a list Of what I will put on this case, these are all parts that I had just collecting dust (hence project : Reborn)

CPU: Athlon xp 2600
MoBo: MSI K7N2-V (nforce 2)
HDD: 60Gb seagate barracuda.
RAM 512 ddr 3200 Smartvision.
Video: XFX GeForce 5700le 128.
Optical: Lite-on cdwr/dvd combo.

I juts installed everinthing to get an Idea of How it will look, and test run that psu :


I put 5 cooler master fans (2 front 2 on the back one on the cpu)
Great temps so far. On the cpu on idle 30c, and load it goes up to 45c (no OC so far)
I really like that I was able to organize the wire And get good airflow on the inside....



So how about mods you ask...
I was thinkin on doing some kind of vents on both sides of the case to house 2 120mm fans.
also I wahted the case to reseble an alien from the movies so I plan to add the jaws ot the aliens to the front of the case....

Any other ideas? I'll post more pics as soon as I get my mods going...

Hmmmmm............maybe replace those alien grills with some of the modders mesh that RedNeck had brought up in another thread.........

So here are some updates on the project.

Since I could not get those Ryan Meshx fan grills here in my country I decided to go for the run of the mill chromed ones... so Yesterday I straded cutting these out of my case



First I did some masking around... (but the case got scratched any way....)



I also taped some plastic under the place where I`ll be cutting so there would be less cleaning up latter...



Now I used my dremel and a reinfoced cutting weel to get rid of the grill then that aliminum oxide thingy to remove the left overs...



As you can tell in the next pic, the case got scratched a bit but since I will paint the back plate black thats not a big issue.



Here its almos done. once again is almost impossible to find U-trim here in venezuela, so I had to use some wire I had laying aroun to trim the hole.



Here is the finished look, Quite happy with it, now I must get my hands In some krylon fusion to start painting the back.. I'll post soon..

Are you sure? I'm not an US resident so I did not lay my hands on "Krylon Fusion" yet but from
what I've read here it's a "vinyl/plastic color dye"... Not meant for painting "secc steel"...
If you mean you want to paint the "wire" it's probably ok... since that is probly somekind of soft
plastic...

For the steel parts you 'modded, meaning anything besides the "wire" (thus "back" ) you are better off with
"Zinc spray" as a primer.... followed by either Acrylic or Alkyd based spray paint...

You did a pretty nice job on the blowholes! I did FAR worse on my first blowhole!

I just mannaged to find the krylon fusion here. and what I ment was to paint the whole back of the case, the metal par, I already did that on the evanescence project (hiden somewere on this forum ) And the krylon works just fine for that..

Oops.. my bad.. I thought the "fusion" was only meant for plastic & vinyl & such...
