Default Project: Revival

So some of you guys may remember when I started this project oooo almost 2 years ago haha.

http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread.php?t=7267

No pictures there anymore.

Anyways, in the past few months I started working again and am currently painting the top and side panels. (Thanks Nerdz )

Hopefully I can finish this soon since I mostly need to finish bondo'in the front and painting that. I'll post some pics today after work. I hope to get some input and what I can do with the front panel since that is where I'm stuck right now. Anyways, expect pics later tonight.

Well here are the pics...not too many but its all I have for now.

The front panel still needs most of the work. I cut lexan to fit cover all the drivebays and I made a cover for my fanbus in the floppy slots. Still unsure if I want to paint it the same color as the entire front peice or leave it clear or what.

All the brown mesh you see is just primer...should be gettin painted soon...weather here has been hot and humid lately.

Top panel has been painted. I wet sand it tonight and I sanded through some of the paint...had to do a little touch up so I hope it comes out ok.

The side panels have been painted also. There is a pic of one of the panels inside my ghetto paintbooth I made in the backyard haha.

Thats all for now. Hopefully I can stay motivated so I can finally finish this case!

I really like what you did with that front bezel, and that paint is looking very sweet.

What's going in this case?

This is how old my stuff is...Nforce2 MSI board with amd 2400+. 512 geil ram and my badass ti4200! This card still plays hl2 and source with good framerates so I cant get rid of it heh.

I want to upgrade but I will wait and get a little shuttle later.

Since your looking for idea's.....

Here's one.....
You did the back of the case with a real rough look. Why not try to incorporate that into the front bezel as well. Spray it with some metalcast or mirage paint. It will deepen the effect of the rough look.

If i come up with something else.....
I'll post on back.......

Keep up the good work.....the paint job is looking good and the top cut out is nicely done.

Hrmm...that kind of gives me an idea...what do you think if I were to cut maybe an inch wide piece of metal and stuck in on the right side on the front panel where the bondo is and did the swirly technique thats on the back chassis of the frame?

The drives Im really stuck on.

How about this.......

Pickup some thin sheet metal
Make a template of the entire front bezel
cut it out and glue it onto on.

Make your rough cuts lightly without breaking through and you could do the same for the drives covers. Plus you could paint the drive covers a different color.

Just another thought......

Hope it helps......
