| On my last birthday, my sister's ex-husband gave me his eMachines computer; tower, monitor, speakers, keyboard, the whole lot. All for free. Not a bad deal, just figured I could use it for instant messaging, folding, and general Web surfing. As it sat in my room, needing a little bit of work from the abuse it got from its former owner, I decided it needed an overhaul. I started an Xbox mod not too long ago, and have put it off until further notice for something a little more functional. I have yet to actually mod a rig, besides building/overclocking, but using power tools and stuff on the case, etc. so be gentle on me. I meant to start a worklog sooner, but the Internet at my house has been out, probably because of a large thunderstorm in my area. Need to get the techies to come out and fix it. So, I'm actually a little ways into this mod already, which is good. RIG SPECS • Intel Celeron 2.2GHz • 40GB HDD • 256MB RAM MODS TO COME • Side Window • Fresh Paint (Maroon, inside and out) • Red CCFLs • Wire Management • Blowhole or Top Window • Possibly Case Handles • 120MM Rear Fan Conversion • Bondo Work on Front Bezel • Toggle Switch Power Button (Sorry I don't have any good before shots, but I took some tonight) ![]() The front bezel currently. I slapped it on for the picture; I have the slot cover, and I threw in an old CDROM since the original one was broken. You may or not be able to see the scuffs on the front, but the former owner would get mad at the computer and kick it. So, the old CDROM didn't work, and the power button is broke off. ![]() The front bezel off. Not sure what all is planned for in there, besides the relocation of the power button. ![]() The top of the case. Hopefully doing some Bondo work for something here, but not sure. Also torn between one large window, or a blowhole with some possible case handles. Need some input. ![]() The messy guts. Planning on just going to an auto parts store and getting some split loom, save a lot of time and money. | ||

![]() Got the window cut tonight. Still need to take a file, sandpaper, and a grinding stone to the edges and smooth it up a little bit. Planning on getting some u-channel, not putting the plexiglass between it, but just putting it around the edges to smooth up the look. I will formally say this now: being that this is the very first window I've ever cut, it wasn't as easy as I thought. I went through two and a half reinforced cutting wheels for that circle, and it's quite tedious. I taped it off just like I had saw done in modding guides and such, and it worked pretty well. Don't give me too much crap for the hole, since it's my first and not 100% touched up just yet. Also, the hole was done 100% with a Dremel. ![]() One of the next simple things that can be done is cutting out the 80mm fan and preparing for the 120mm. Sort of strapped for cash right now (damned college tuition ), so this will be done as soon as possible. Let me know what you guys think. Some suggestions, some advice, whatever you feel is applicable.

| After a little bit of thinking about this mod while here at work, and Thrasher being the pimp he is and hooking me up with some goodies, I think this project will definitely take shape. I'm thinking I should ditch the circle, and cut practically a full window, possibly a square with angled edges, and thinking of what to do with the front bezel. Even though the front USB ports are handy, I'm thinking about ditching them and just Bondo'ing the front up flush, and doing an MNPCTech turbine mod on the front. Need some more input and ideas; I'm slacking! | ||

Thrasher's hooking me up with a 120, which will be probably used for the back. Since the form factor is not a full tower, there isn't a whole lot of room to muck around. I'm probably just going to do an 80mm turbine mod with a circle hole (using PVC pipe for the duct), slightly raised out (only about 1/4"), Bondo it to make it flow better, and then putting either modder's mesh or just some standard screen mesh from the hardware store. Also I've decided on the paint: Metallic blue outside and frame, blue lighting and wire loom, with hopefully some trimming in either black or white. Again, ideas are definitely appreciated!

Hahahah! Hilarious! I was just WAITING for someone to bring that back up when I started this worklog. Any advice from a pro-modder like yourself?
Dually noted. As the circle shape stands, you can't see the drive cages. Once I take the hardware out for PSU sleeving, and installing the SWEET PSU mod kit Thrasher's hooking me up with, you'll get to see more of the position then. I may actually do a couple small circles, just for some added pizazz. Maybe like two, 2" randomly-placed circles? I don't know. Need some feedback on that, or what I should do with the window. The color scheme has went from the maroon to a metallic blue, with blue details/lights, etc. We'll see how things go from there. Hopefully I'll have some updates toward the middle of the week. If you guys have any suggestions at all, any, please help me out!

| Thrasher... I hate to be a mooch... (Even if I've begged before...) But, Project BloodRun needs some serious 'Pimp-intervension' . If you have maybe one or two red CCFL's (length means nothing) and some spare cable covers of sommat, I will become your personal hoe. No fake... *Gives the puppy-dog pout* PLEEEEEEASE? ~Kratos~ | ||
