| ?What? Yes a tank, this has been sitting in the back of my mind for quiet some time and since the love of BF2 has come around I have the inspiration to mod a tank to fit a system in it for a local LAN party here in town, 36HourLANMadness. Some of you know me as the local News poster, but for allot of the newcomers they have to look into my past threads to see the mods I have done or even go to my Biz venture with other forum member Twizted, and recently WordBiker, in creating DragonModz. Well once again I can say this and mean it, We do what we love and we love what we do! The Tank in this project was picked up from a friend of mine at work and the day I had it in my hands I knew I wanted to do this project with it. I forget the make and modle but I will find out again...Here she is before she gets the cut job! | ||

| sweet, i always wanted to make something like that. since it was radio controled, if it will still move after loading it up with the computer parts, it would be awsome to drive it in through the lanparty doors, and up on to your table, what about a bb gun in the turret, SHOOT THE CAMPERS!! | ||

| Wow that thing is BIG! Questions: -Does it fit a regular a ATX motherboard(meaning it could actually be a gaming pc unlike a via miniATX board) -Do you plan on using it for show, as a server or for your gaming rig?(im guessing server by the name of the thread) -What ARE you planing to put in as far as parts go? Suggestions: Get the tank airbrushed. Rust, bulletholes....showdows...blood even. | ||

| OK the low down is this, Gigabyt amd64 board w/ on board video(tis will be a server so no GPU needed) It is matx, we have an odd ball PSU that wil fit in the rear wheel well. Twizted will extend wires where necessary to fit USB , the psu, led or 2 or three hehe. More pics to soon follow....Would you believe I have 6 mod projects going on right now? | ||

| Just a few ideas. Extrend the VGA. USB, LAN, KEYBOARD, and MOUSE ports to the back via wire. then you could do some sort of flip up door to hide them. Maybe you could build a small switch or wireless router into it for hoook ups. ![]() Last edited by Cpt.Planet; 13-July-05 at 08:19 PM.. | ||

| Apex Tech Fanatic | Another note; the M4's main gun was underpowered compared to the german medium/heavy panzers. Tank crews would put large pipe over the scrawny barrel to make the gun look larger to enemies, since the Tiger crews quickly discovered that the M4 wasn't that much of a threat to their forward armor. Using the fake barrel let US tankers convince the opposing forces that the Allies had upgraded/retro-fitted to a larger diameter gun. (I can't remember off the top of my head if the M4 was ever retro-fitted; I think a revised model with more balls was introduced later, near the end of the European theater.) Also, someone else should mod a German Tiger or a Soviet T series model into an adversary for this thing. | |
