I am going for a read/black theme. I need a way to darken the cold cathode it is way too bright compared to the fan leds.

I am open to any comments and suggestions so feel free to drop in.

Good start there! Did you paint the case? Either way, the case looks pretty damn cool.

I love that color scheme. I take it the case came in that paint job? It looks sweet to begin with. You can darken your cold cathodes by wrapping around the tubes with couple of layers of red cellophane. This is a trick I picked up from MNPCTech and is very cheap ($) to put together, and you can buy cellophane in any craft store, etc.

EDIT:
After lurking around your photo website, I noticed you did paint that case. Therefore, I'll say you did a really good job on that and that's one great color scheme. Sort of makes me jealous

Mind I ask what exact type of paint did you use for the red color?

Of course, I used Dupli-Color:

1 Textured Black for one coat on the inside and did a couple more coats of the red because it goes on thin.

2 I just used textured black for the outside. I did about 4 or 5 coats of it to get a good texture.

Paint

Edit:
I got mine at Walmart and Auto Zone. Auto Zone is more expensive but morea ssurance nobody messed with it.

Not trying to kick a dead horse, but did you check the Zalman site for compatibility issues before you ordered the 7000?

Back on topic, if you're doing a black & red theme throughout, how about a Thermaltake Volcano 12? If I recall, the plastic around the fan blades is black, the fins are red, and you can turn the RPMs up or down, depending on cooling/silence needs...

Keep it going, looks good from here...

EDIT: I just checked and the Zalman definitely not compatible with that mobo, according to their website... Sorry, dude... I can give you the link if you'd like, for future reference... ZALMAN HOME PAGE

Hey, you need to post a new picture of the top of that case it looks a lot better. Btw check out the reviews. They post lots of picture so you can be positive that the cooler you choose has the clips you need.

I do love the look and feel of that textured paint. Dupli-Color all the way!

Edit: I've hoped you learned a lot so far, troubleshooting will be the real learning experence once we get everything togther.
