| Apex Techie Wannabe  |  First Case Mod: Acer... Hi this is my first post and my first mod or will be, Here is my ACER, I have made some small mods such as the beginners stealth drive mod. But as you can see I have started removing some of the side of the aluminuim case cover, and sanded abit of it back. Next week I will paint it (gloss black) and then polish it to a mirror finish. After that I will put a 3mm window and a 80x80 fan. The panel will be painted in metallic green (similar to the aurora FX from alienware) and the "ACER" plate will be removed to reveal my stealth drives. Also need to tidy the inside of my case, sleeve the wiring and buy UV Cables and paint keyboard to match base. System Specs: - P4 2.4 Socket 478 - 768 RAM - ATi Radeon 9600xt - 200 Gb ( 1x 40, 1x 160) Suggestions/Critisism is welcome Anyother Info just pm me | |

| Eleven-Bravo Sitrep Writer  | First off, welcome to PR. Lots to see and learn around here. Secondly... External mods are great for personalizing a case/whole system, but I have a couple questions... Once you cut the side panel to put in the window and fan, what if anything do you plan to do to the inside of the case? Cable sleeving/management? Interior chassis paintjob? lighting? Etching on the window? I'm just trying to get a feel for where you're going with this mod, as well as perhaps give you a heads-up about some things to think about... Other than that, again, welcome to PR... MOD ON!  | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Thanks for the replies Yes 72, I'm going to sleeve my wires and try to stealth them using a method I learnt from a book (using a tube stuck to the case) so my wires are nearly invisble, and i am going to have green cathodes (the holes will make it look cool). Hopefully i will be able to etch... i need to practise that and also buy a dremel tool and also a few decals or an air brush job. But most of this can only happen on weekends as I have school and stuff like that. | |
