I have a black Evercase case. I have cut a 120mm side fan, and it has a gold grill on it. i like it. I also want to have a new color scheme, and start painting. My old ideas wont get very far with the gold.

What i am looking for, is ideas from the fine people at pimprig. Id like to keep some of the black, and make the gold fan grill look good. I cant reward anyone with anything other than the satisfaction that they know they inspired me to paint my case in one manner or another. I also have an 80mm fan in the top. After that, any ideas guys? nothins out of reach. Go Wild!

I'd say get a set of hoe fan grills for your rear exhaust, top exhaust, and side intake... but that's me and what I know of your case (filling in for the pimps who wont see a good pic till he drags that thing over to my place friday...) Maybe gold paint on that gray strip?

hmm...like the gold paint idea, but no thx on the hoe grills.

That would be kick ass in gold too. If you want your gold fan grills to look better get some gold leafing paste! Hope this helps!

would look pretty cool i think...but $36 is a lil much. I was thinkin more like $15 in spray paint. i just need to know what colors work with black and gold basically, and i need inspiration on a design for this new color that i want to paint on.

I think you hit on somethin when you mentioned Red Dragons on your case this afternoon, man... I think that would be awesome.

hmm... ill need some artistic ability, but heres what Outcast is talkin about. A large red dragon, that wraps his tail around the gold fan grill, and is like breathing flames or something. I like the idea, but it sounds hard.

Could i just cover that in masking tape, then use an exacto knife to cut out the dragon and paint that way?

That dragon sounds like a sweet idea. If you want to paint it with the cutout idea dont use masking tape, use contact paper. It will give you super clean lines and you could just use a Write on Wipe off marker to work the design onto the paper till you have it exsactly as you want it.

But on the other hand, how good are you with a dremel? You could cut out that dragon design and then put in red plexi behind it. That would be pimp!

yes...i cant say ive ever actually put my dremel skills to any sort of a test. And to tell the truth...im against a window in this case. I feel like too many people have windows...even the cool, origional ones, i just dont want one. but yeah, contact paper sounds good....great idea with that marker too. Maybe i buy some this weekend and get started on that.

If the window isn't your bag one other thought might be to etch in the dragon with and etching bit on the dremel. Then polish up the etchlines and cover them in red marker. It should give you a really neat red anoized look with some good demension to it. Just a thought.

well paige, thatd be awesome...but i think i want to just paint this one...that sounds rather above my skill. Ive never actually used a dremel for any metal...and when i last used it was like 5 years ago. But hey.i like your ideas...and i think ill go with a basic paint on this one...now all i have to do is grab the contact paper and the paint.

Along with the dremel part...bits are generally expensive....im looking at a very limited budget, and im sure my steel case would eat up those bits quick.

Well, for anyone who is curious, ive decided on a picture to attempt ot paint on my case.

Id like to know what the pimps think of where it is. Should it be on top, left side panel, right side panel, all 3, or just sides?

I will be painting just the dragon in the attached pic, and it will be a darker red, with black background.

I hope to have this painted soon, as soon as i get some feedback and the cahones to start it. Also whenever i get to the store to grab some paint.

sweet dragon...id say put it on the side that you will see it the most. not sure how your setup is so cant give a certain side.

got idea off ScapeGoat, put that dragon on both sides, then pop a longer one on top that would be heading towards front
