Thought id post a teaser pic before i finish my rig

No its not original, no its not groundbreaking, but I did replace all the leds and paint it inside and out and mod the case just enough to fit a dually athlon, 4 hard drives, cdrom, and completely internally watercooled (except for res) inside a not so big mid tower (you may know this case as the platinum xp, also known as the neon light by 3r)

Theres also a 120 mm blowhole up top with a black ice extreme and vantec stealth 120 sitting beneath it.

theres more mods to come on this bad boy, ill keep ya posted, will post in the gallery as soon as I do my window and clean up some wires(yeah i know i should cut before i paint but i didnt know what i wanted for the window until very recently, remains to be seen if i have the skills to pull it off and i can always repaint heh)

weres teh radiator?

and is that molding around the fan that metal thing, or just molding

the radiator is in my top 5.25 bay with a 120 fan below it

the metal around the fans is some cheapo truck molding i got at advance auto parts

Hey Abyss, about the wiring....I won't dog you. I got the same pump but in the 500 flavor. Once I finish my res I'll post my ongoing opus.

yeah this is the eheim 1250, plenty sufficient for my needs i think

this isnt an OC rig, just watercooled because of heat issues so for now just WC'ing the procs.

can u plz post a pic of how the rad is attached and stuff

Its mounted up top in the top 5.25 bay but set back far enough that i could use the top bay for a rheostat or other shallow 5.25 device

heres a pic from the top of a closeup of the 120m, you can see the rad directly beneath it and the 120mm fan is directly beneath the rad blowing the hot air out of the top of the case.

Its been a really long time since I updated you guys on this case, but a lot has changed, and i have some insanely pimp and i believe never done before mod ideas for this case.

As for what i've done since these pics, I've swapped motherboards, is currently running a chaintech 7kdd dual athlon board. my early revision asus board was not the best performer in the world.

the water cooling has been temporarily stripped out of the system until I can get a little happier with my tubing and drain system. I'm currently running those Best Buy/Circuit City microfin Antec coolers on my cpus. I've actually been suprised at their effectiveness. but all the case fans remain. i replaced the 2 80mm vantec stealth fans with 2 80mm blue cold cathode sunbeam tech fans and migrated one of the stealths to the rear of the case for an extra exhaust beneath the psu

There is now a 5.6 inch color lcd from partsexpress.com residing in my top 2 5.25 bays, took a bit of dremel work but i finally barely got it to fit heh.

Also i have added 3 10k rpm 18 gig U160 Quantum Atlas III's to the adaptec 39160 controller. 2 on one channel and one on the other. Just got my eval copy of 2003 .net server today so i'm gonna install it and play with disk mangler and some software raid0, but I dont currently have an OS loaded on this box. I still need to flash my bios and possibly raid bios for my board as well

Also the vantec nexus is not in this pc anymore, it resides in my athlon 2400 box as I need the variable speed on my cpu fan in that box

I will give you one teaser for what is to come, this case is evolving into the Star Wars themed case that i had in mind for a different mod project, but I think its gonna be really really cool. Maybe even featured pimprig-cool once i'm finished. OMG I havent been this excited about a mod idea I think...ever.

On a side note, some of you were expecting a writeup of some really high end scsi equipment from me, and i'm afraid that recent events causing me to lose my job (actually not so recent anymore) forced me to return the drive (Seagate Cheetah 73 gigger 15k3) before i got a chance to play with it. I will however be doing a storage writeup using the 2003 disk management utility, a couple of different raid controllers and some mid range scsi (those atlas 10k drives I mentioned before)

Kickass Abyssling....i remeber going over someof those starwars idea oh so long ago, and if its anything like you told me, its will be one hell of a kickass rig

Hrm.... abyssling, what color is that paint and is it as dark as it looks in that first picture? You've given me ideas...

The paint is candy apple metal flake in blue made by plastikote, came from advance auto parts

its not as dark as the pics show, its much prettier than that. My friend is borrowing my 3.2 mp camera so as soon as I get it back I will take some updated pics

Oh and I forgot to mention before, I also added a pc mods 6 switch dual led baybus, i didnt mount it in a 5.25 bay, but rather on the top of case behind the lcd and in front of top blowhole. I am considering redoing it at a later time with more custom electronics though, there will be a lot of custom eletronics in this case once i am finished =)
