AMD does not make a Socket 939 2500+ or a Socket 754 2200+. Did you mean 3500+ and 3200+? In that case, I would go with the second choice replacing the X800 Pro for a 6800GT.

Affirmative. What kind of question is this anyway? You're going to want to combine the specs on those in some aspects.

First one, but even if the x600 was availible in AGP, it's not worth the money, I mean come on 200 bucks for a 9600XT with higher clocked RAM and PCI-e is dumb.

Get a MSI 6800NU with the first one you listed out for sure.

Whatever your smoking...send me some!
This sounds alot better...
3500+ Socket 939
ATi X800 Pro
2x512MB Mushkin PC3500
WD Raptor 74GB (Boot)
2x80GB WD SE (Storage)

Too expensive? Chill and buy an AthlonXP-based system then, because it's not
quite uber-primetime for the Athlon64 anyway, unless we're talking FX series.

2 80s for storage, why bother? You can geta 250 for like $150.

I realize you probably don't want to mix and match here, but...both of these rigs suck. Assuming you're NOT going 64, don't skimp on your processor or video. Since it looks like you're going for the new cards, get a 2500+ and an x800. Make up for that cost with your hard drives. Get something simple for now, wait until you fill it up and your bank account fills up with cash
