Very nice, I may end up doing that when I get myself a dedicated surfing rig (i.e. nothing fancy) as I have decided to go on with my own version of The Wall theme that I mentioned in mnpctech's thread for my current rig.

What I used was a Silver Sharpie, found at any place that carries Sharpie's mostly in a two pack for about $1.50.

Those pics are halfway done, hence the names of the JPG's

Some more specialized ways of coloring may be in order to fill in some tight spots that the Sharpie won't reach, but other than that it's another day in kindergarten.

How much time did it take you to silverize half of the board?

About an hour or two

I'm a slow slow modder, everything has to be perfect and if it isn't then I continue until it is.

On another note, the board is almost completely colored and I have to pick up another pack of markers. After a while they lose their silver wholeness and then look uneven when dried.

this may be dumb but there's only one 'type' of silver sharpie right? if I got to Walmart or CVS and grab a silver sharpie (or 5) thats the ticket; just go to town and don't cover anything but PCB?

I bet some conformal coating, like this stuff,
then a spray can of your fav paint might net smoother results...Wonder what the RMA guy would say?

XPS, the flash of the camera makes it look better than it is. The way I do get it smooth though is by using fresh markers. So called "premium ink" comes out of the marker when you first start using it and then eventually slips down into ink that leaves marks where you color.

Ark, correct. I just went to WalMart today and picked up 3 2packs since they're only $1.33 each.

I sure hope Kayin did indeed confirm that this stuff is non-alluminum pigment. I just read on the Sharpie website that it DOES use a METAL pigment, its in their Science of their markers section. I was curious, as I was thinking of doing some Xbox mod chips with them. Have you tested the board since you done this?
