Ok, I'm restarting this thread, the last one was not organized very well. Well here I go. I just got my Shuttle AN35/N-Ultra in yesterday(thanks guys ), and im VERY pleased with it. I have my lil Duron 1.6 @ 2ghz no problem, but I can't get any higher until my new CPU fan comes in from newegg. I'm running pretty hot with this stock 2000+ cpu fan (47idle - 55 full load) Lol. The fan I'm getting is a TR2-M2, which is thermaltake's new brand. Very inexpensive fan, and I hope it does me well. I ordered my new Radeon 9550 video card, and im waiting on it from newegg. This sucks....fourth of july holiday means no shipping on monday, f*ck 4th of july I want my video card and CPU fan LOL. BTW, my Duron is locked, I was hoping for a preweek 39 model that comes unlocked, so I might be doing that Mobile conversion trick to unlock it. Any info on that would be MUCH appreciated. I will keep you all informed on how this project goes, I plan on taking lots of pics, and screenshots, and I will give LOTS of detailed info. This project will be fun. Any suggestions, comments, or info will be appreciated, thanks.

I have personally seen this computer system. Is is one of the best running Duron systems I have seen. I hope everything works out good with that new fan. Tell me how it works out with you overclocked CPU. I might be interested in getting one if it will out perform this

OK I got my new fan, and everything is great. My new video card is on its way...im going to overclock the newer radeon 9550...and show people how good a mainstream card can be .....tell me how u like the pics...the fan is a TR2-M2...by thermaltake...and it comes with fan speed controller....in the pci slot...tell me how u like it guys! ..running nice at 2ghz

That's a Thermaltake fan?? Never seen that one.

its really cool, the driveing system is leik magnets in the shroud around the fan, makign the die hella small. i think thats how it works.

do they sell those fans alone? and do they work much better?

they are suppose to work better cause there isnt as much of a dead spot in the middle of the fan, but iv never used one to see.

You could use to replace that heatsink if your lookin for better temps man. But just imo. Keep the pics comin!

It is a YS Tech Tip Drive Magnetic fan. The original release was very hyped and got alot of attention, but the fans sucked (motors burned out).

I think they fixed the fans, but never regained consumer interest.

I looked for a 120mm version of that YS Tech a while back ... All I found was 92mm. Pretty cool looking fan

Hmmmm, I would be interested in finding out if it outperforms the 92mm Vantec I currently have on my Swiftech...... for future reference.

The fan itself is very good. High quality made Y.S. tech. The heatsink doesn't perform as good as it could, but that was a cool idea about using this fan on a different heatsink. It has a copper bottom, which is better than bare aluminum, I should have taken pics of that as well. It gets pretty nice temperatures for a 2ghz Duron. Btw, im not going to trick this into a mobile cpu, it doesn't really work as well. You have to adjust multipliers in windows like a laptop, which sucks. Im getting nice performance at 2100mhz, and thats a decent overclock for what kind of system I have. My ram is capable of 400+mhz also. And I upgraded to a 500watt cheaper psu, but it's better than what I had, and I can see increased voltage stability. I will take pics of my new video card, and I'm going to try to overclock it to 9600pro specs. I have a Vantec Iceberq aluminum cooler for it. They both have the same amount of pipelines, 128bit memory, and the same RV350 core. So I think it's very possible. I will keep the pics coming

Depends on what vantec fan, This only pushes out 35cfm, about the same as a regular 80mm case fan, from a 74mm fan. Vantec toronados push like 85cfm . Imagine that on a swiftec or thermalright heatsink. But hey, im under a budget, and you can't beat this fan for the price.

Well is that because that is one of the few and i do mean few Duron systems that you have actually seen and touched, although you touching anything is always bad.

My apologies. In other news, the fedex guy went to the wrong door, so I don't have my video card until tomorrow. WTF I'm going to give that guy hell tomorrow. Didn't even beep his horn once. GRRRR I've been waiting a week for this thing! I'm so bummed out about that. Curse you fed-ex!!!!...........when I get my video card I will show you how everything goes.

I got my new Sapphire ATI Radeon 9550 and it's pretty damn nice for a "mainstream" video card. It has the same RV350 core as all of the Radeon 9600's (just clocked a little lower), and the same 128bit memory. I haven't done any benchmarks yet, but I soon will. This card came with s-video, DVI, and VGA outputs. I noticed it has Samsung memory on it also. HOWEVER, there is one problem....I was planning on using Rage3d to overclock, and the site says it supports 9600's, but when I try to install it, It says "card not supported". Damn I should have seen this coming. I'm thinking of trying the Omega tweaked drivers, since they have a built in overclocking utility. But I would rather be able to use rage3d.


So guys, help me out here......Is there a patch for rage3d to support 9550's??....should I use the omega drivers to overclock??.....or is there another overclocking program that is just as good as rage3d???........I know there's lots of ATI fanatics on pimprig.....so someone help me out please

You know that 9550 that I got? It's currently at 400mhz core/500mhz DDR memory. What do you guys think? Thats 9600pro performance right there.
