I just scored an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe from the local computer show. All these VCore options, FSB jacking, multiplier tweaking, ahhh where the hell do I start

For now I have my Duron 1400 ABred and 512mb DDR400, R9600 Pro and 20gb Fujitsu. How high can I get this 1400 to w/o voltage mods?

I got a nice 2400 here what ya got for trade?

if he don't trade you Digi, I am interested in that 2400.

It all depends on what your 1400mhz will overclock to. It depends on the ram, PSU, cooling, chipset, and how you overclock. Are your multis unlocked? If not that will limit your FSB overclock. You will have to probably set your Vcore voltage up some...and then make the FSB higher, make sure you have good cooling, and be careful. Also try not to push your ram too hard. Good luck on the overclock. Watch your temps, voltage, etc. Run prime95 for a few hours to test the stability, if the system is poorly overclocked it will crash within minutes. Remember, if you make the fsb higher...and the system crashes or gets errors in prime95....make the Vcore higher....that helps ALOT.

Is that unlocked? if so, the one I built for a friend a while back runs at 2.1GHZ with a stock cooler and 1.7v, Sandra says that is about on par with a XP3000+

I would bet there is alot more left in this (Idles at 50c!) the A7V-333X is limited by voltage.

With better cooling and more voltage, I have seen people reporting 2.2-2.4GHZ+

Funny you should mention folding. I am in the process of beefing up my network so I am cranking out at least 10 to 13 WU a week. Do you guys know what the difference is between a Duron 1.4 and an XP2400 in folding? 2 extra minutes on the Duron 1400 per frame.

I do have an idea. I was looking on ebay for AMD cpu's and I found a real good deal on AMD Athlon Mobile 1.5Ghz CPU's. They come stock with low voltage and unlocked. You could overclock that CPU so much. I have a 2500 XP-m 1.8Ghz @ 2.4Ghz. They do not run real hot even when you set the voltage up to them. I have my voltage at 1.725 as we speak and my FSB is 200 and im running 41C with an thermaltake dragon orb 3. That would be a good upgrade for you if you cpu is not unlocked. If your Cpu is unlocked than that is even more awsome. If you are interested in those CPU's send me a message. There were a few places I found them for good prices. I would look into getting a mobile CPU.

XP2400 @ 2400 MHz

16.5 x 160 @ 1.825 in BIOS at like 53*C on a Volcano 11.

I can only seem to get my 2500+ mobile to 2.4Ghz.... But that is a nextream overclock j-dogg..... Way to go

It's been doing good so far but I'm wondering if it really needs 1.85 volts to run at 2400MHz.
