| The title of my new project is "Mod Project" I came up with this idea today at work, and I think I'm gonna go for it. First off, the overall theme of the case will be a "mod in progress" or "under construction" type theme. I want to make molds of my hands, and then bondo them onto various sections of the case holding tools. The plan is to have a hand coming out of one part of the case holding a dremel, with part of the case in the middle of a cut right there. In another spot a hand will be holding a sanding block against the case, as if frozen in mid sanding. Other things hands might be doing outside of the case might include things such as screwdrivers and spraypaint. The goal is to have the hands look as if they are coming out of the case, yet a part of it--with a smooth transition from case to mold. I want to use just a plain jane beige case to start with, maybe paint the whole thing a silver color. Maybe even primer. Around the window have lines drawn is if they were used to center the window when it was being cut. On the outside of the case on the MB side I want to have a sign painted on it in orange or yellow and black with a saying like "Under Construction" or "Mod in Progress" What do you guys think? Of course, I need to score a broken dremel that still looks to be in working condition for this to work, as I don't want to bondo a perfectly functioning dremel to my case.... I think this will be pretty cool when it's done, as the case will appear to be working on itself, sorta. What do you guys think? Check my new sig! After stealing Fu3lman's sig for sizing, and then chopping in part of my computer background with a spider found in PowerPoint clipart and a web found online---all of this done in Microsoft Paint, mind you. Had to download the font, too. | ||

| I kinda liked Spectrum's idea, only if you don't wanna make it removable, hook it up to the power supply if you can and have a switch to turn it on and cut things right from the case. Sparks are great for a computer Look around eBay, that's the best thing I can think of. | ||

| The hand molds are a really good idea in my opinion. And I even kind of like the idea for the theme. But now that you've come up with the idea of using hand molds you could do so much other stuff with them. For instance two hands cupped together slightly portruding from the front bezel with a blue orb in them. You could make the blue orb the power switch with plexi and LEDs. You could then make a mold or sculpture of a head that could be slightly portruding from the top of the bezel just over where the CD-ROM drives would normally be with little more than the top of the head to the eyes and nose showing. The Eyes could then glow, but faintly. That would be cool. Or your idea too. Whatever | ||

| Thanks a lot microsoftman. Those are really great ideas. Some of them I had already considered. I'm still in the planning stage right now. I was seriously debating the molding of a head, but I need to look further into what that would involve. I also had the idea of lighted eyes. I'm not sure if I want to go blue however, because blue is a little overdone in the modding scene. | ||

| For the head I would buy a pre-sculpted one. My brother-in-law has a really awesome glass head , if you put LEDs in it it would seriously rock. But I would suggest doing the hands from scratch since they sell kits for doing that kind of mold. And, just so you know, I like your idea a lot too... I just sort of got into it when you brought to my attention the possibility of hands and head molds . | ||

| A pre-sculpted head huh?? Well I'd want to get it somewhere in town, and it'd have to be cheap. I don't want to put a ton of money into this case. I wouldn't even know where to start looking for head molds....A crafts store? Hobby Lobby? I've never seen one at Hobby Lobby but then again I've never looked for heads there. | ||

| Just letting you guys know that this project hasn't died yet. I just can't seem to find a case anywhere! Once I get the case I can get started. And I've looked around....so far no sign of a pre-sculpted head locally. I'll start looking around online. It'd have to be dirt cheap though (because I'd have to pay shipping too). | ||
