| I don't really feel like writing much ATM so I'll go with the "picture is worth a thousand words" scenario. Some asshole totaled my car this afternoon, and since I'm working 2 jobs to save up money and have to drive down to Texas in 2 months to pick up with school, I'm not a very happy camper. I've been working on this project for a few months now, on and off, and with this recent developement I don't know when the next update will come. I was planning on finishing by the end of summer, but even that was a stretch since I've got so much on the drawing board for this one. Oh well. I'll start with the functional mods. Function before fashion. Before shot (gutted Lian-Li PC-70 minus the drive and PCI covers): Last edited by lAnonymousl; 02-June-04 at 04:38 PM.. | ||

| One thing you'll find under the "Cons" part of many reviews of this case is "Lacks removeable motherboard tray." I decided to remedy this.... one other thing I wanted to do from the start was put all 120mm fans in there. It took a bottle of lube and a shoehorn but I got it in there. Pic1: Replacement 120mm fan hole. Pic2: Rear of frame cut out. Pic3: Motherboard tray with attached 120mm fan mount. | ||

| This is my favorite. Had to relocate the HDD cage over the PSU because of the radiator, but I needed to find a way to remove it easily without tearing the whole case apart and removing the PSU and I also wanted to isolate the heat produced by the HDD's, as I was planning on getting some Raptors, and I hear they put out some heat. Explored a bunch of different options, but this is what I eventually came up with.... Pic1: 92mm fan hole cut into case frame/PSU shroud/whatever you call it.... Pic2: Modified HDD cage. Pic3: Modder's mesh use # 1,000,001: hard drive brackets for crossflow air. | ||

| Well this thing is dead in the water for now. My car was totaled and didn't get nearly what I'd hoped I would for it. Kinda pisses me off because I really enjoy working on the thing. I'm still going to get the rad shroud welded and sized, do some of the electronics work I had planned, and maybe buy a bucket of bondo, but the powdercoat, plexi, other paint, pneumadics, etc... will be on hold several months I'm estimating. I guess in the meantime I can actually pick out some sort of theme and begin planning the aesthetics. ![]() | ||

| No, they are equally wide, but make sure you take a look at Pic #1 under "Removeable motherboard tray cont....". It fits kinda tight on the inside. (Note the right side of the case that had to be shaved down to about 1/16"). If you want you can attach it from the back though without too much trouble at all. | ||
