| Well, here are the first shots of the AC case, in its first stage of rusting, after some serious body work (not the first OR last in this case...) Spoke with piloux, creator of the BlackMesa case. This is a diferent, though related compound, used for plastics, as the outside of this is all PVC (whodathunkit?) But, it looks good (so far) Comments, whatever? Leave them here. I'll answer/rant as necessary. | ||

| Well, here's an update, of sorts... I got the insides for this joker, and it's a nice one... ASUS P4P800 Intel P4 2.53 video card TBA Koolance PC601, deshrouded ( the one from the first iteration of FlameProof) 2x40 WD SE HDDs no optical, it'll be runnng headless (heheheh) and a 420W TurboLink PSU ( I had it lying around..) At any rate, I think it'll pimp up nicely with those specs... Got it in a recent deal, along with lots of other stuff... | ||

| Not familar with Final Fantasy so I dunno what youre trying to emulate, but looks good. My only suggestion is accencuating "worn in" look by shading crevices and corners by either dry brushing or airbrush (see example) You can find dry brushing "how tos" posted on Military Model sites For Hawkeye's case we airbrushed "dirt brown" in gaps between each optical bay, pwr button and front intake. Under each bolt head on panels. It looks like it was left outside in acid rain. What I liked about Blackmesa HL2 is the extruding bezel features, exposed cables for top cooling fans and retro type switchs. He gave the case a 3 dimensional feel by adding features to surface versus just cutting it up. Know what I mean? The bezel is real funky in a good way. Take a walk through a local scrap yard. Maybe you'll find some things that inspire. You could make a ripped open panel by cutting slits like an asterik, then peel them back. Place a rusted a (junk) PCI card behind ripped hole so it looks like internals have been exposed to elements for awhile. Or make it look like it caught on fire w/ a Torch. Hack one of the case corners off with an Axe Is there hand guns in Final fantasy? how about embedding a gun in the panel or making a carrying handle from a pellet gun or adding a gun holster. I know I'm reaching here, but you catch my drift ![]() Last edited by mnpctech; 15-June-04 at 07:44 AM.. | ||
