| This occured to me last night while in the throes of a nightmare: 1 - 4 port router 2 - Daisy chained 12 port hubs 1 - computer with two NICs 2 - router ports open for common use 1 - router port reserved for Soldat server basically, what it comes down to is 23 free ports on those little hubs o' mine. The hubs can be hooked up to the internet through my man computer, the second NIC, and my router. I'm sure I could cut a deal with my former boss for 22 PA-RISC stations (I have one) at a very nice price. I throw linux on them and run them while they're stacked under my bed or something. Use Putty or some such to control them. Them plus my main rig leads to 24 different instances of Folding @ Home ..... which could give us a big scoring boost. Only flaws are time, my skills with linux, and my ineptitude with networking. That and I'm lazy. If I decided to get off my fat ass and do it, though...... well, I suppose a man can dream. | ||
