Default Duramod 2.0

after a new cpu and graphics card, and a few months of waiting, the project has been re-opened, and i have regained my previous vigor-

the machine now sports a 1900+ and a GF4 MX 64mb, pretty killer for Q3, and all i need for SOF2

i spent most they day (after ****ing over my ACT) reworking my window, i decided to loose the design i had, and just go with a nice big window and an etching to match the airbrushing i'm gunna do for the other side (pics on monday)

thats really i all i got for now- i dont have my camera for more pics, more updates as follows, window etching should be done by the end of the week, airbrushing sometime in the next week or two, and front bevel, who knows (for those of you who are new are ound here, at least since i've been around, seems to be alot fo new faces, there is an origional thread somewhere back there, i'll poost a link when i'm not on 56k)

good luck on awaiting those ACT scores.... I sacrificed someone's soul to the dark lords and got a 32. Was hoping for a 34, damn lazy demons.

Oh, and can't wait to see the window.

well with the ACT, i'm not so much worried about my scores because i NEED to retake it, only finished 2/3 of the math section, and the same for the reading section, got my self screwed over with nbowhere near enough sleep

here is a pic to hold ya over till tommorow
i left on squigly for the heck of it, one edge and the squigly still need to be filed and sanded, but otherwise its almost done

nice and big.... the trick for the ACT is not to worry too much about it. Remember that it's just a test, and it's signifigantly easier than most other tests you've had to take over the years.

if there's one thing I wouldn't want to do with an SAT, it's pull it out of my ass. I think it'd hurt, 'specially when you consider the papercuts.

here we are, as promised, pics- thats the design, and the design being transfered to the window for hte etching

on that note, what a good product for making "etchings" like window fake frost stuff, and or can a sandblasting kit be had for cheap (or is acid etching an option)

then i will use the same stencil as a basis for an airbrushing on the oposite side

EDIT, forgot the images

Same here except I got a 27 and I took it in 9th grade. I took the SAT the same year while "under the influence" (at least for the english part). I nearly aced the english part but not having had trig or calculus yet fux0r3d the score on the math side. I still ended up with a 1310.
At any rate, I like the design although I think it is good that you are etching it. Dremeling that design would take plenty of time AND patience.

if you have an air compressor, you can just buy a cheap sand-blasting attachment. Just remember that the finer the sand, the better the blast.

depedning on how you want it to look i supose- (yes i have the compressor, or access to one) but would a rougher sand not get you a rougher finish? wether or not thats desired is one thing, but you know its not all about fine/rough good/bad i was thinking about the window frosting stuff and i think it would be too fine, and not have a little texture to it like on alot of window etchings -

but regardless it looks liek it would be cheaper to rent perchance, and anay other posible idea would be good too

@godfoot never was gunna do that as the window, had a different design, but it didnt work with everyhrting else, that wouldnt even work logisticly as a window i'm pretty sure

things are almost done on the window, i think i might get some window frost stuff, cause i'm a lazy whore, but i just have a bit more to cut on the stencil then its spray time

sunday i'll be sanding away at that otehr side, the stuf i used to fill in, is rubbery as hell, so it sands worth ****- gunna take me quite a while (i just wanna take it all down with a 2ft plane)

the reason I recommended a finer sand is it gives more definition on the edges on most cases.
