| Well I went out and purchased a chieftech Matrix and took it all apart. I think we all know what they look like. Here it is after its all taken apart. I plan the make the front perfectly smooth with a window. Other than that I dont know. open for suggestions. Ive tried alot of things and you all have seen alot of my work. So let me know Fellow pimpsters. | ||

| i would say 720 width is the most you could post...cause i posted some pics on my 2f2f mod and 720 dont break the layout, so i think the rules should be updated that pics have to be 600 by x just like sigs...good q 1024x768 max 600 without breaking (tiny scroll) 1024x768 max 720 without breaking (little scroll) 1280x1024 max 600 with no breaking perfect (no scroll) 1280x1024 max 720 with no breaking perfect (no scroll) but if i have to scroll on a 1280x1024 thats a problem. | ||

Analysis hell, you are making the thread rediculous to view, resize dood, easy to do and the traffic will stick around and take a look...good for the whole there, Ace... Are you gonna use a little heat and put some curvature in the blue Plexi? BTW how did ya come out on that 2.7ghz run, get there yet? Haven't seen ya over at the Benchmark challenge yet...Solid's been at the light's waiting for ya...go for it, and get yer ORB it on...

| I agree with zennzzo, you might wanna get a little bit of curve in that plexi it will ook better than having the case curve in then suddenly go straight (If that makes sense....). Also, since it appears your covering up the fron 80's, what are you going to be doing for airflow? | ||

how much heat would you need to do that? i was just wondering. also, it's only my opinion but i'm not sure of the green and the blue plexi looks a little too.....unique. since the plexi will be on front maybe you could try an etching? those are cool. or may you can stick something dark behind it for contrast. anyhow thanks for resizing the pics. it's much easier on the eyes now

| Yeah Ill be putting a curve on that plexi, What Im gonna do is curve it over the old peice then fit it on the case, Next CARFULLY Im gonna bondo the small gap being carful I dont invade onto the plexi too far, Then Ill Tape some Tribal flames off on the plexi, sand blast it into the plexi..... peel that tape off, cover the sandblasted flames with tape and PAINT the entire front peice. Then before I clearcoat Ill peel off the tape on the flames and clear the entire thing... That way the only translucent part is the tribal flames and it will be cleared over giving it a very glittery effect. Then I can cut and buff it to make the entire thing smooth. Should look pretty good IMO | ||

| Direct Cool Hoe | If you have access to a "hand brake" and a heat gun you can trim and fit plexi just mint. If you shape it over the old cutout it will be too big and have those square cutouts dimpling it.... as far as the gap, I'd do spot putty and wetsand it even with the cutout, and then rub the plexi smooth again right with the case.before you paint it. You might want to sand etch the back side of the plexi and leave the front side smooth and flame the case and the plexi part all together, it wont look so much like a cutout pactched in. Check out Jinx's entry into the lunamods contest the flamed bricks one, that's what I was trying to convey...It all flows together, the flames and the mesh over the openings... | |

About 150degrees F plexi will become plyable at about 200 it is like thick saran wrap, on the 1/8" thick stuff. the thicker pieces need a long kinda heating process to get both side of the sheet to cooperate with bending.. .I use a commercial heat gun 1400watt capable of 1100 degrees F. with a sheet metal tool called a "hand brake", but ya gotta be carefull not to bubble/boil the surface, really is fun stuff to work with, if ya got the right tools... ![]()

| naw I practiced working with the plexi already. What I did was took a peice of plexi and heated it up to about 175, and with silcon gloves I took it out and bent it around the front of the case with foil on it... bent real nice and stayed. So I think Ill try that again. | ||
