Well I was looking at my CAD rig and how nicely it fits inside my Gateway G6-366c mATX case, check this shiat out...

I added one of those spiffy-looking handles I showed off earlier here at PR and Dremeled the backplate so I can use my onboard LAN, the G6-366 mATX tower didn't have onboard LAN or a removable ATX backplate so I had to dremel a LAN jack in it

Part of the reason why I did this is because I'm going to a LAN party and need a decent fragpad for stuff like CS and BF1942

I don't plan on a window maybe just some more fans, it needs as many as it can get since the PSU sits over the CPU fan, a TT Volcano 11. Specs are as follows

DFI AZ-30 TL
Duron 1.4 GHz Applebred
768MB DDR
Radeon 9000 64MB DDR
10 gig Maxtor
24x CDROM

.......all on a 90W PSU stable in 3dmark2001!!!

I plan on upgrading the video card maybe to a Radeon 9200 128MB and an Athlon XP2000, but I built this for LAN parties, it's compact and looks like a sleeper, I'm going to paint it like a cow, like the Gateway box

I think I have a severe case of Dremel fever

wow, 90 watts? if that thing doesnt get too hot, you could put a switch to turn on/off the psu fan, inorder to make it a quiet case and at the flick of a switch, a nice LAN rig.

It gets hot believe me......

So hot I can't run F@H on it until I get some better case cooling.

well, forget my idea then. a coolermaster xdream will cool that cpu down nice, but it gets pretty loud. take it from me, on high, its LOUD, but its worth it.

Update on this one, hit it with a Dremel and added a 120MM intake fan, case temps dropped 14*C sitting at 35*C now, CPU at 44*C idle, no F@H yet until I can get sub-40*C, but I have an idea on how fix that. The fan in the PSU that blows over the CPU is an 80MM but has like 10 CFm airflow so I'm going to add a Panaflo 80MM, or something with more than 35 CFm so it's doing more than just cooling the PSU. Maybe a 40MM or a 50MM on the backplate of the PSU....

120MM is a Sensaflow with the thermal sensor on the North Bridge which is the hottest part of the PC since it's passively cooled.

I prefer to look at it as a Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother theme rather than Gateway.

Just finished painting, check these pics out....

I used masking tape to cover the whole case and bezel, of course neither was actually attached to the PC, then used a box cutter to cut out the black spots and removed the black spot tape. Painted the spots and went over them with clearcoat and now it's what you see here. There's still a few rough spots but other than that it came out excellent, I can see my reflection in the black spots and tomorrow the whole case gets the clearcoat treatment. Then I'll be upgrading from 768MB to 1 gig of DDR and a faster processor, probably a Mobile 2200 then i'll be finished with this project

You can't get more "Gateway" than that. Nice job.

I also nabbed a nice hi-output 40MM fan and it's sitting on my northbridge, and with RAMsinks coming tomorrow for my Radeon 9000, this will proally be my best mod so far.
