simple mod

Ok so here is the plan. I am building a pc for my step-son?s birthday
Here are the specs
Abit motherboard not sure which one exactly right now
P4 3.2gh processor
2gig OCZ platinum pc3200
ATI x800 all-inwonder
What I am doing if take some old but still good parts and building him a gaming rig. When I first started building PCs I bought a cheep powmax case that I liked when I saw but when I got it I soon came to hate. Long story shot it has been sitting in my closet for 3 years well the boy saw it when I moved in my g/f and loved it so I am going to do some simple mods to it. The case came with a window but it is cracked to hell so I am replacing it, I am cutting out the back fan guards to increase airflow, adding a fan to the top of the case, adding some cold cathode tubs, and finally I am painting it flat black on the inside and gloss red outside. I already have some of the work done and will be posting pics soon.

Top of the chasey in primer

inside of the top of the chasey first coat of black

ok a quick update, i put a couple more coats on the inside of the case, and a couple more coats of primer on the outside. With all the rain we have been getting i have not had much time to work on it plus i got married Saturday so the weekend was spoken for. i am going to put one or two more coats on the outside then start working on the paint. When i get more pics i will post them

I was able to get some work done on the case, i got a couple coats of red on the outside and the chasey is done and back together i plan on wet sanding it tonight

ok so a quick update. Most of the painting is done, i am just waiting on it to cure so i can wetsand and spray on clear. I have desided to do an etching on the back pannel, but before i do i did a test on an old case i have laying around to see if i could do it. Here is a pic, the panel for this work log will have a tribal dragon head.

Thank you godling. I got the fans in for it and painted the blades to match the case.
I got them off newegg, they were actually cheaper to buy 10 then it was to buy 5

well i did a totally bone headed move. Puting every thing together and well the etching i did is upside down

so i am going to have to redo it after i give it to my stepson on monday (i feel so d**m stupid)

Or cut out the etch, flip it upside down, and remount the metal sheet ... put a plexi ring around it ... whatever.

ok i hit another snag, the abit mobo is dead so what i am using now is amd sepron 3300+ and a PCCHIPS M860 V.1.0. I have it up and running but with the ps i am using wire managment is a pain. i will have pics up soon though
