Well so far i have orderd and on the way a LanLi PC-V1200Bplus II Black. My plan is over all for the case i was thinking of using my gaming handle as inspiration Narcosis!

Definition

Nitrogen narcosis is a condition that occurs in divers breathing compressed air. When divers go below depths of approximately 100 ft, increase in the partial pressure of nitrogen produces an altered mental state similar to alcohol intoxication.

Nitrogen narcosis, commonly referred to as "rapture of the deep, " typically becomes noticeable at 100 ft underwater and is incapacitating at 300 ft, causing stupor, blindness, unconsciousness, and even death. Nitrogen narcosis is also called "the martini effect" because divers experience an effect comparable to that from one martini on an empty stomach for every 50 ft of depth beyond the initial 100 ft.

Im still working on thinking up a design to fit this theme. One thing i was considering doing is cutting out the letters Nitrogen Narcosis accross the side pannel above where im going to put in my side window and putting in 1/2 inch spacers behind it and then mounting a black mesh screen behind it with blue lights. I was thinking about leaving the paint the way it is but possibly doing something with a window etch and blue lights from the inside to try and simulate a underwater death experience kind of feel. If anyone has any ideas for me on how to etch something into this window to accomplish this with the lights i would love to hear it!

If you go w/c I have a great 'Defyiantesque' idea for the res(s)
Design the res(s) to look like a divers backpack?!
That could look really cool, I know when Defyiant did a NOS styled res canistor it looked well
cool

So far the only thing i have been able to think of to use for scuba tanks are those nos energy drink bottles and paint them and attach a very small pressure gauge to each i have been searching for any kind of tank or resivour that resembles a scuba tank and i cant find any?

Well, why do an etch? If you want an underwater look, there's lots of ways to do it.
  1. How about making the window double-window with water between? It would have to be sealed, of course.
  2. Make the res into a fish tank!
  3. Use a mirror ... build a tank inside, near the bottom of the case, and reflect the image up through the window.
  4. Search through some deep diving videos for inspiration!

As for Defyant -- he is, indeed, a Great Master of modding. Never met or even spoke to the man, but his works are just inspirational. He always pushed for originality through inspiration, though, so whatever you do ... get inspiration where you can, but make the mod original!

Really original i like it... you could very well make a water res as a window and maybe put a fish tank air pump into it creating a bubbling effect and then put a black see through mesh or screen behind it to give it that effect... maybe even put a little scene in the res like a diver drowning or something.. or holding a martini idk...

I wouldn't put a bubbler in there, but to get a nice water flow affect, and still have a few bubbles, i would put the res dump valve at the top of the window, and the suck valve at the bottom, creating a super highflow waterfall. That is if your gonna make it part of the loop, easier done would just make it a separate from the loop(especially since you already have two res's that are gonna be your scuba tanks)

So what's the deal, xgeko2 ... gonna water-cool this thing, or do it on air? Either way, a lot of these ideas are really good.

Please, please, please ....

use the Manage Attachments button down below this text box area (when composing messages) to attach your photos. I personally hate being redirected to Photobucket, ImageShack, or any other picture hosting site when PCApex has an excellent native method of importing images. Just check out the New Babe Thread for examples. Plus, those links often die, or are deleted by the users, or the hosting site goes away, or whatever ... and months or years later, as someone is going through the worklogs to try to learn from whatever you've done, they can't see the images because the images are gone.

Ok a little update mother board for this project just came in i chose a asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe I bought this bad boy openbox from newegg.com to save a bit of money.

But only 1 problem No I/O Shield!

But i think i have a fix for this I was thinking possibly making my own I/O Shield out of some plexi!

This is the side pannel design i have come up with so far I Havnt squared it off yet but i will be cutting as soon as i get everything lined up.

I was also thinking of making some kind of mod that looks like scuba tanks there either going to be water resavoirs or i was thinking about making air ducts that look like scuba tanks for the side.

looking good so far bro. Definitely make that I/O out of the Plexi, it'll be a bit more challenging, but I bet its gonna look sick once it done...especially if you have any interior accent lighting.
