#1 - Full black and CAT Yellow paint w/ logo's
#2- Water cooling - Dual or trip 80mm Rad on the side mounted facing forward with a scoop channeling air into the case ( fans set to pull air in ) . Tubing going into the top and fliud color Yellow. Front dual bay res.
#3 - Exhaust pipe ( like a tractor stack ) on the oppisite side
#4 - two strobe lights ( From CAT ) top mounted and wired to switches ( might have to draft Twizted for this)

#6 - The topper - gonna try and find Tractor tracks for case feet .

So here's some pic's of the victe......err.......volunteer. I'll be ripping this up starting tonight or tommorow depending on BUDWIESER intake .

If you mod, don't drink. If you drink, don't mod. I can speak from experience here. I haven't seen a good Cat mod in a long time, I look forward to seeing it. Take a look at Ward Burton's old number 22 and see if you can get some inspiration there. Don't forget about using a little diamond pattern aluminum looking stuff (maybe on the interior?).

Got some bondo work done this mornin' .... This stuff REAKS!!!!!!!!!! If you use this stuff make sure to do so in a WEL VENTILATED area and wear a resperator/breathing mask!!!

Hers some pics of the prep and bondo work before sanding , and a shameless for Bill's (MNPCTech) forum because he's was the one who planted this ideal in my head.

Didnt like the power button and the lift up door for USB/Audio ports so I got rid of them like so...

Heres the ,before shot **Shameless plug**, materials used , sanded, bondo'd shots

Sweet mod man! ILL be watching this for sure. A heads up though, when using a bondo type material or bondo period ive found that things move along alot easier if youve got a putty knife to smooth out over the top of the goop. Dont use much pressure when your applying it but enough to keep it clean and knock down the rough stuff. Its much the same practice as when your mudding drywall....I know youve done that. I think it goes without saying that all Dad's are gonna encounter a muddin job. Anyways just knock it down to keep it smooth and sanding goes alot easier. Than again youve got a belt sander there.....get er done!

@BA - Yup gonna head out to Sims Metal tommorow hopefully to pick up some thin Dplate

@Sparky - I HATE DRYWALL . I do know what yer talkin bout tho, I tend to get a bit brutish with my sanding , so I compinsate with bondo ......It does take a bit longer to sand off tho .

Well here's what I got done tonight - Sanding with my new sander ( This is a BAD A$$ sander, orbital, palm, detail, and small surface all in one!!)- then I painted it and wetsanded to see any imperfections in the bondo job. After that I measured out and then marked where I want two of my 80mm fans. The tape I use goes to 32nds and its one of the best tapes I've ever used, another tool I'd highly recommend. The square you see in one of the pics is a machinist's square and is within .001 of perfect and all edges are straight to within .001 also . It helps me alot cuz I cant square crap with a tape and ruler .

Anyhow after all that , I modded some beef too!!!

What are you using to cut your holes for your fans? Hole saw, greenlee hole punch, jig saw, or ye olde cuttin torch? Ive found the only way your holes are gonna be perfect is if you use a punch and even than its a good idea to sand the edges, so is channel molding gonna be used? Also, I cant remember if your going to rattle can it or not, but either way ive got a couple of buddies that work for CAT and I might be able to see if he can get the mix for their paint if airbrushing is an option. Hell they might even have there own rattle can made up for touch up work. Let me know bro.

BTW nice sanding work. The only man that hates drywall, is the man that works with drywall.

Had an ideal last night ( early A.M.)and so went out in the shop and did some work. I had two controllers in my shop and wanted to use the four knob one, but it didnt have a top to it ,which i needed. Well I took apart the LCD unit and used the case from it to make a top for the knob'd unit. What Im planning is to mount the controller in the top at an angle facing forward. The reason for this is that the case only has three drive bays and I want two single bay res's with a burner in the middle bay. Doing this will give me a fan controller which i wanted also.

Her's some pic's of my work ( the lil' green pencil lookin' tool is a deburring tool )

Exellent job thus far and I like what you've done with the controller.
Good find with those 'hubs', They will accent the mod perfectly
