Waz up Joker?!

Thanks for the comment vaughn scheunemann

The Lian Li PC-7plus case has a simple design, light, but sturdy construction makes best bang for the buck project case. The more simplistic the design, the more options you have for mods. Factory 120 front & rear fan holes w/ removable front filter, removable perforated fan grills save you time in removing them, easy to remove power/reset buttons. It's also powdercoat friendly, which is a big plus in my book. Stu and I have used this model case for more individual projects than any other case I can think of. It rawks. They retailed for $119.99, 3 years ago. We're happy to hear LL is still making them.

Red Powdercoated Chassis

Customized (powdercoated alum) front intake grill

Mnpctech Machined 5.25 Billet Drive Bay Covers (powdercoated matter black)

Mnpctech Machined Billet Case Handles

Metal backing plates for red translucent acrylic full metal alchemist crest

1/8 thick red translucent acrylic

Custom red vinyl film logo

That acrylic workpiece will look awesome with the metal backing behind it. From whatI can see, it seems that you are planning to make it stand out a bit (with the metal stand-offs). Any chance of making those stand-offs black?
You will have to share the secret as to how you will be finishing off those intricate corners.
Very nice. I am looking forward to the next update !

Hi Lithe, this is my shop partner, Owlbot's project, did you see the video? Yes, He briefly explains how he will mount the acrylic. and Yes, he used black alum stand-offs, although I don't think you see them in video

Was wondering how come you didn't paint the metal backing plates black. Or would it make the red acrylic pieces look too dark? Either way, it's still an awesome looking mod.

Scuffing up the bare alum plates, really brightens up the translucent red acrylic when looking at it head on. You can see this effect in the video clip above.

Tom worked on his full metal tribute project today. The two of us spent a great deal of time hunting the right screw for things. (argh) Theres a massive amount of junk in my cabinet drawers (haha)
Lots of wires still need to be stealthed out of sight for 3.5 bay fan control and Sunbeam light controller. These need to be addressed before the MB/ZALMAN-HSF/VGA/SOUND are installed.

Hopefully Tom will have everything finished up tommorow (New Years Day). I should have Part 2 of the video up this week.

Heres some shots from today

Industrial-look accents (painted later) from the Ikea Hardware Dept

I love how everything matches the color of the case.
This is why I always encourage people to "Paint Your Drives!"

"Mod, its whats for dinner" Thank you Lithe.

The plan is to get this project finished today. The only element we're questioning is the lighting, I donated this Sunbeam Chameleon light system to Tom that I had stashed away. We're wondering if it will be enough to really create the mood for this computer.

PCApex review of Sunbeam Chameleon from 3 years ago
PCApex.com - Sunbeam Chameleon

Just a warning if you're thinking of buying, I don't believe the Chameleon is manufactured anymore. I searched high and low this morning for a reseller seeling them. They're either listed as "out of stock" or removed altogether. I checked Ebay (stateside) too

You can change the spectrum of colors for 4, individual leds on swivel bases that have projection type lenses.

Lovin' this mod so far! Your dead on about painting the drives to match , it makes the front come together better.

One question, do you plan on doing more to the emblems on the front ? it might just be me but thoses bolts stick out like sore thumbs on the emblems.

Great work so far Tom

Tom finished it last night, New Years Eve!

Most of the day was spent sleeving and hiding cables. What took a majority of time was all of the wires for two bay controllers, one for the lights and 3.5 bay fan controller and 2, 4" cold cathodes.

It's all about making a clean presentation inside/out and I think he did a fantastic job.

Oooh nice to see another FMA case!

I remember the one by bionic that I got to see in person at MML.

Love seeing anime cases done right!
By the way Bill...got room there for me to mod too?! LoL I just see so many cool tools to use that would make modding a bit easier!

Keep up the awesome work!!!
