| OK I'm starting a new mod. I've got two cases that are just staring at me with that evil challenging look. you guys know the one i mean ![]() Well my daughter happens to like Anime and picked Burst Angel as the theme for her computer. (must be nice to just say daddy i want. )The victum will be a CM centurian 532. ![]() Not a real big case but one I think will work just fine for her theme. This isn't going to be a very complicated mod but I hope everyone enjoys it any how. And believe you me is this thing gonna be bright!! Can anyone say safety yellow and orange? | ||

| First things first! Let's rip this baby apart. ![]() I am not going to be needing that bottom drive cage, so it's gotta go. ![]() A few screws later and its gone. I want the power supply on the bottom so I am gonna try something new for me. ![]() I used a drill to remove the pop rivets holding the back plate so could remove it and flip it over. ![]() A few minor cuts with my dremel to the frame and viola a left handed computer. I used bolts and nuts to temporarily hold it together for now. I think I am getting a pop rivet gun for christmas so i am kinda stuck until i find out. Just to let everyone know I keep full size pics at flicker if you need to see them. Custom computer case - Burst Angel - a photoset on Flickr . | I am making the case badge out of 1/4 plex and a printed picture glued to the bottom. ![]() I drew the rough outline on the plexi's protective blue surface and the used my dremel and a zip bit to cut the shape out. ![]() Here is the picture setting on top to check fit. ![]() I used my dremel with the polishing head along with polishing compound to make the sides nice and smooth. i then masked off the top surface and sprayed a clear gloss to the bottom surface. while it was still wet i applied the burst angel logo to bottom. after 15 minutes i then sprayed on another coat but this time i also made sure i got the sides too. i have a total of 3 coats on it. It now looks like a big piece of ice. ![]() This is where its new home will be. | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() Just a little bit of demolition. Just kidding, i will need most of those parts back. except for the aluminum rods. I will be replacing them with either 7/8 translucent florescent orange or florescent orange acrylic bubble rod. which will then be end lit from the top and bottom.

![]() ![]() ![]() Painted the front bezel. 1st. I wash all my plastic with vinegar to remove any release agents and slightly etch the surface. I then wash with clear water and let dry. 2nd. I prime with XIM primer to give me a good surface to paint on. 3rd. (optional) i use sherwin-williams rust preventative gray primer as a barrier coat. for some reason(strong azz solvents) I have problems with krylon's 5 ball spray paint wrinkling the XIM primer. I hate the stuff but for the life of me its the only spray that i have found that doesn't have a recoat before 2 hours or after a frikken week label. 4th. I spray a couple of coats of the color and let dry to touch 5th. 3 or 4 coats of clear gloss for protection. I am not going to be putting the time into wetsanding or anything like that. its shiny enough for her. at the most i'll wax it after i'm done. ![]() top control panel and bottom plate painted orange.

| O.K. work slowed down a bit and i got a chance to to something. I decided to drill out all the rivets and paint the inside gloss black and the drive locks orange. I then used aluminum rivets to secure it back together. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I used a bonding primer on the plastic before painting them orange. I also taped the edges where the sides slide across the frame. Last edited by donsoules; 06-January-08 at 10:09 PM. | ||
