| hey all, i just wanted to show you guys my mod, unfortuently i dont have a worklog to go through everything since its already finished. to take a look at this go to Stealthdesk this was for my major design project for my last year of highschool which i have now completed yay! i could have made anything i wanted but i made this desk. check out teh site and let me know what you think, im still to update the site with videos. incase you dont work it out, the screen is set on a motor and with a push of teh button the screen rises or lowers out of the desk and the computer too is hidden in teh desk. | ||

| that's pretty cool, props for the obvious hard work that went into it. If you don't mind my asking, what's the specs on the computer you've got in that? Any problems with heat? I'm not a big fan of the studded vinyl, I would have went for an inlay of some sort, but it still ends up looking pretty cool. I'd have sacrificed one side of drawers (could have been a nice bookshelf) and put a full-tower computer under one of those panels you've got, with the same riser action as the monitor. A transparent case, or just a frame, to show off the guts of the beast, now that would be pimp ![]() | ||

youve hit the nail on the head my main idea was that i wanted this big wall to come up instead of just teh screen, the wall was to have the harddrives on one side the motherboard on the other, the screen in the middle and 2 dvd burners just under the screen. due to the weight of this i wouldve needed sumtin pneumatical and not a simple motor like i have. specs: asus a8n sli 2x gainward 7600gt set in sli amd x2 3800+ 939 thermal take 750watt there used to be 4x maxtors 300gb each set in stripe raid but 1 wasnt set in teh raid as it was C drive. i say used to because one failed and i lost 400gb of data from the possible 900gb it does get pretty hot, it used to hit lik 55C on idle, i put in some exhaust fans 150mm in the back of the actual timber and that fixed it it now stays around 35-40C.it has 2 120mm in teh front of teh perspex and it has the 140mm on teh psu sucking out and i have like a tunnel for the hdds where there is a 120mm in front and back of the hdds. but the tunnel for hdds has been puled out for now since the 3 hdds failed. im seriously thinging of changing the whole layout of teh case, becasue it was my first perspex build and its a bit shonky and all, so prob sumtime after new year i mite change teh whole layout and case etc. more pics are going on teh website sometime next week, just hav to find free time | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
