Default Pc power and cooling 510sli power mod

Ive had my Pc power and cooling 510 SLI for quite some time now, and it always offered good clean power. All was great until I purchased my new P5K premium mobo and my Xeon x3220

The Pc power and cooling only has a 4 pin connector and the P5k has an 8 pin connector. It will run with the 4 pin connector, but overclocking was alot tougher, and stability at overclocked speeds was negligible.

I purchased an =8 pin adapter, but it got its power from a 4 pin molex

I seen that as being inefficient. So I spliced them together.

First I tore out the unneeded pins out of the adapter that were where the stock ones go

then i trimmed the yellow wire, and removed one of the groun pins from the molex as it was unneeded anymore.

then I carfully pulled the pins out of the stock 4 pin connector, but shoving two pins into the top of the connector to release the chrimps that hold it in place, this allowed me to pull them out easily

I then replaced the pins into the new 8 pin connector exactly the way they were in the stock one.

now half of my 8 pin was connected as it was to the stock 4 pin, and half is connected to the normal 4 pin molex side

like I said, I was having some problems overclocking and general stability under load with only the 4 pin connected, now with the 8 pin connected, Im fully stable at 3.2ghz ghz at stock voltage, first try.
Once the water cooler is done, this should help out with some top clocks.

So far im at 3.4ghz stock voltage, stock fan. I used to have to raise the voltage to the CPU significantly to reach this before.
