Im Finaly Getting A Car!

Well im finally getting a car, I been saving my money for the last 7 months and pretty much didnt buy anything and I dont have a job (still in school, getting one this summer though), and I had $1900.

Well my mom was talking to her gay friend that works at the sewing place she goes to and his mom was trying to sell her old 68 mustang so my mom told him I had 1900 and she called us saying she would take it! Well it needs a carb, but I can get one for $150 and my google adsense check should be coming some time so that should pay for it.

Well banks are closed tommrow so im not buying it till tuesday cus the banks are closed tommrow!

Ill post some pics on tuesday!

But i got pretty lucky finding a 68 mustang for 1900, and its a cali car so theres pretty much no rust.

Man, a '68 Mustang for $1900... yeah, you are lucky! I'm looking forward to the pics.

Only thing I feel I should mention is that you shouldn't depend on it. It's not like your local Autozone will have parts for a '68. My friend had a '68 Mustang as well. It needed some work, like exhaust, carburetor, or something else. He ended up selling it because he couldn't really do anything for it, and needed extra money to keep his current car on the road.

So... if it runs, I'll say you can definately depend on making donuts and rattling the neighbors' windows!

And I felt I should add that I'm 19.5 and I still don't have a car.... and it's killin me!!!

And Thrill Kill, I just don't know how you didn't need a license. I guess a car crazy person like me just can't grasp that idea, hehe.

i lived in nyc, if i needed to go anyplace.... subway, bus or cab...

yea no need for a car in NY, but in cali you kinda need one.

At first I didnt want my lisense but my mom somewhat made me get it and signed me up for the classes, but im pretty glad she did cus I love having a license!

4 years later and i have already possesed at least 6 cars over that amount of time.

Well the guy dropped it to 1500!! So im sure im getting it now, it needs paint, and a carbarator, but the interior is all new. The transmission is good, but the front rims are not origonal and they are rusted alot, the body and frame have nearly no rust.

Also its a V8 and auto

Is the engine original (do the numbers match?), that will add more value. Is it a California Special or just a regular 1967?

Asking these because I also am getting a Mustang. Except mine is a 1967 and going for $11000 but has tons of cool options like a Swing-Away Steering Wheel, all original engine, trim, etc. NO RUST! Full Console, Original Rally Wheels, Original Paint, the only thing bad about it is a rip in the Driver Seat and a gap on the Rear Right Passenger window that is easy to fix. Also, is it a fastback or a coupe? In a book I own that has every Mustang and every option and detail possible about them, it says that there were 7-8 Coupes per 1 Fastback, meaning Fastbacks were more rare and obviously can be a lot more expensive if you restore it correctly. Have fun with your 1968 and I'll have fun with my 1967. And if your in the South Orange County area sometime come over to my place and we can race!

Forgot to ask, do you know any internet sites that resell Mustang Seat kits? I don't like having a ripped seat when everything else about the car is perfect!!

Man, you're livin my dream. I've had my license since 16. A little over 3 years later, and I still don't have my own ride that I can spin around in. Bah!

Yes I am talking about the VIN numbers. Mine is blue but its not titled "The Complete Mustang", its titled "40th Anniversary of Mustang"
