Pulling out the parts...time for some good stuff.

While the mini is in the garage getting a complete engine compartment re-fit and repair, I've invested in some rare and performance parts for the old girl. For starters we have this fine rare piece - the Dowty Variable pitch fan:

Manufactured in the late 60's - early 70's, the fan has latest well. It replaces the 12-fin plastic standard fan in Mini radiator housings. The result gives more MGP, increased top speed, reduced noise, and quicker acceleration....so the package says. The fins are adjustable by the speed at which the fan rotates. I can move them about 10-15 degrees..which will no doubt make quite a difference in noice and airflow.

Also arriving soon are:

A pair of 1 1/2" HS4 carbs with pancake filters to get the baby cranking some decent VROOMMM......and yes this one might well have to be shipped form the US....

and an LCB sports exhaust manifold (awaiting delivery hence no new picture) for both a bigger bore- high performance exhaust monifold, and an increased BHP. All in all $900 are nearly spent...and damn the results are going to be schweet. I'll post up results of the makeover in a few weeks time hopefully.

Looks good Nev, remember my mates Mini Mayfair i told you about a few weeks ago? He's only gone and sold it...

Couldn't get it insured after he extended the front end to put a VTec engine in it. Unsuprisingly.

Looking forward to seeing your beast in proper boy racer style action. Can you get a few vids or sound clips?? Like before and after kinda thing. That'd be sweet.

Will do - hope to get a new driving video soon...hopefully with the minis in convoy. I'll post up when its done
