Default FS: 1982 Honda CX500B

Bit of a long shot this (but it's free advertising ) The expense of shipping means only the lightest bits of clothing are worth shipping to the US

Honda CX500B Sold

Also got a large amount of bike clobber & bits & bobs to shift:

Helmets:
* Arai helmet, size M, has had very little use, in ‘as new’ condition, white with ‘speed bubbles’ sticker set, complete with original instruction books, spare stickers, silicone lube & helmet bag (£55)
* AGV helmet, size M, has more use but still in excellent clean condition, yellow with ‘speed bubbles’ sticker set, plain black helmet bag (£20)
* Helmet bags: one red with Cambridge Motorcycles logo, one black with Honda logo (£2 each)

Gloves:
* Black cowhide winter weight gloves with Thinsulate lining, size XL (£5)
* Apache brand summer weight gloves, black, size L (£5)

Jackets:
* Buffalo brand mens leather jacket, black, padded shoulders & elbows, label says 46” chest. Has a few dead flies dried on but is otherwise is excellent condition – only just broken in, in fact. Ideal if your idea of being well dressed on a bike is looking like Mad Max or one of the Fremen from David Lynch’s ‘Dune’ (£35).
* Spada waterproof jacket, removable lining & body armour, black with purple & silver highlights, loads of pockets, excellent condition. Very warm – I used to get away with just a T-shirt underneath on subzero mornings. (£55)
* NATO M51 combat jacket, olive, removable padded lining, fit 46” chest, as new condition (£28)

Jeans:
* Apache mens plain black heavy weight leather jeans, size 36” (I think), years of wear left in them (£25)
* Lion brand mens black leather jeans, black, padded on hips & knees, very flexible leather, 40” waist, hardly worn. (£30)
* Dynamic mens leather jeans, padded on knees, rear zip matches Spada & Dynamic jackets, black, good condition & clean, very flexible leather as these are the ones I’ve worn most (£25)
* Lion / Spotlite ladies plain leather jeans. Not sure of the size, but they measure 37” around the inside of the waistband. Unworn. (£30)

Other clothing:
* Duke plain black leather waistcoat, fit 42” chest (I think) (£10)
* Ogri embroidered beanie hat, black, as new (£4)
* T shirts – all black, XL size, worn once & washed: Performance Bikes “smoke tabs, drink beer, eat chips, ride bikes” logo; Back Street Heroes magazine, Streetfighters magazine; Ogri “Grim Reaper”, Ogri “Creed” (guaranteed to offend your grandma). (£5 each)

Security:
* Bolt down wall anchor, heavy section yellow painted steel complete with bolts (£12)
* Magnum lock & chain, very heavy & chunky, complete with both keys (£15)

Luggage:
* 38 litre ‘stuffa’ bag. Like a big black nylon sausage with zip off ends. Unused (£5)
* adjustable nylon throwover panniers, black nylon, unused Sold
* cargo net, red elastic (£2)

As CX's go it's very quiet & tight - no nasty camchain rattles ... at tickover the exhaust goes "thubba thubba thubba" & there's a constant sort of low-pitched mechanical squeaking as the air gets drawn in through the airbox & compressed in the cylinders, if you open the throttle at low road speeds the exhaust makes a noise more like "CHUBBA CHUBBA CHUB", and if you hoon along at high revs it's more like "VORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPP".

I'll see if I can record what it sounds like

Ok ... try this. Apologies for the cars whoosing past Turn up the bass to annoying levels to get a proper idea what it sounds like.

First spike is about 9,000 rpm (don't worry, it was still warm), 2nd drawn out spike is 4,000 rpm.
