Default Your choice, auto, manual or both?

I'm just curious as to what your preference is. I'm partial to auto as it's really easy to drive.

there is a reason man is the first three letters in manual....grow some spectrum and drive a stick.

Hmmmmm.....so, you prefer an automatic because you find it easier to drive.....or because you find a stick IMPOSSIBLE to drive?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Real men know how to drive a stick....even if they drive an automatic

EDIT: To be honest....I'm biased. I learned to drive on the very steep and windy roads of the So Cal mountains. The stick is definitely the superior choice for control under those specific conditions, and in winter snow, a stick shines even more. My Dad wouldn't allow me to get my driver's license unless I learned how to drive a stick, but even with that, he used it as a basis to teach me how to drive an automatic tranny better. Just sticking it in "D" and never downshifting is a good way to warp your brake rotors...and we saw a lot of tourists doing just that. Now that I have driven for a number of years, I would certainly consider an automatic for my next truck, purely for towing and backing up. Automatics have come a long way in sophistication, and tranny chips can tune them for better shifting properties, but until you understand how a stick drives and feels and can appreciate the differences, you won't have full control of your vehicle.

I prefer manual for myself, although my current POS Cav Z24 is auto.

For a family car though, like our minivan for example, auto for sure.

There is no way i would even buy a automatic. I love the feel of shifting gears, speading down the highway.

It would be a crime to drive a RSX with an automatic. But I gotta agree, it can be a real pain driving a stick when you're stuck in heavy traffic.

On the plus side you've got more control, better brake life, better milelage, better acceleration and most girlfriends won't ask to borrow it.

This is true. I don't have to worry about my wife wanting to drive my truck.

If you have "A Need For Speed", manual is the choice. It also handy for the quick slow down when the fuzzbuster goes wild.

anyone ever drove an auto with a 3000 stall and a shift kit so bad that it rips tires off when it shifts into 2nd and 3rd gear normally? (well 400 hp helps too) no feeling like that.........but i still love driving a stick.

Manual Hands down... my first car had a auto tranny go at 153,000 miles. My 2WD S-10 had an auto tranny go at 63,000 miles. My ZR2 has a manual and I prefer it over an auto any day.

Automatics are junk and don't last very long. Why? Most automakers use cheap parts (DODGE) for there Auto's.

My 350z has a 5 speed auto and you can slide it over and it pretends to be a stick.lol I would have gotten a stick but its my everyday car and driving in the snow is no fun with that car so i got the auto.
