Which Paintjob?

I recently got a 1985 Toyota Corolla DLX that is a beautiful two-tone blue and rust. My dad and I are doing all of the body work on it, but in the process we are trying to figure out a paintjob. I'm looking for some input on the 4 sketches i made in paint (this thread keeps getting more and more ghetto)...anyway....keep in mind that this will be done with spraypaint (after all....its a ghetto project)

I'd say do a General Lee knock off, but thats just plain disrespectful to the General Lee. How about a Mini Cooper British thing? Kinda like Nev's ride.

I'd say none of the above - go for matt black applied with a brush (same for the wheels), remove all the original lights & get mismatched smaller round units from a junkyard, remove the grille, & "mesh" the grille gap & lights (& windows, possibly) with chicken wire. See how much of the original bumpers you can remove without affecting crash protection too much.

uumm ghetto i would have to say the purple paint also with some gold wire hubcaps and curb feelers.

My dad suggested the Mini Thing the other day, im trying to figure out how it would look. It wouldnt take much beyond a black paintjob with some white stripes countouring the hood lines on it...it would be kind of cool to paint Union Jack on the roof though.

It seems like the idea of the General Lee has been shot down by adults that have more say over this than me because the Rebel Flag could be taken as "offensive".

I took some pics of my actuall car last night, here they are for any ambitious photoshoppers out there

then you could put a lift on just the back wheels so it sorta looks like the real thing...

Most Mini Coopers out there are red with white stripes, or dark green (with white stripes)

Its a japanese car, so im gonna say bright yellow or green or something with fake carbon fiber accents. Dont forget to duct tape some sheet metal on the back and put random japanese decals on it.

It's going to take a lot of work to make that car look decent...and a ghetto paintjob with spray paint, IMHO, is going to look bad. If I had to choose though, I'd go with the barney flavored #2.

Agreed. If you are going to paint it, back order SCC's issue where they Krylon'd a STi (doh!) and do that instead. Then tune it up and make it last another 100k miles (it should since it's a Toyota) and buy a nicer car in a few years.

I voted purple. I have to agree with JoJoTheWebToedBoy - drop the green and opt for black.
