I heart my Mazda Protege. Paid 1300 bucks for it, put damn near 25000 miles on it in the last 10 months, and nothing (serious) has gone wrong.

I think I love the Honda I'm getting tomorrow better, though. 39 MPG City / 45 MPG Highway. The pizza slut's dream...

Sucks for your friend, man. I don't know about your MX-3 since I've never driven one, but my Protege can roast any 2nd gen (i think) Ludes, and keep up with any Prelude aside from the SH, on from there.

That's awesome.

I hate it when people get scared away by a high milage car. My dad seems to think that I shouldn't even consider a higher mileage car, but I see no problem with it. Honda, Mazda, Toyota, and Nissan make bulletproof motors, and I don't see any reason why a car shouldn't continue running with little maintenance.

I got my 01 Mazda Protege DX for 5700. 64000 miles on it, and it runs pretty well. Wish it had a bit more power, but its probably good that it doesnt; it keeps my speed in check.

Personally I'm Not a big fan of HondaÂ’s the reason I chose my name was a joke for some of my friends. I bought a 1985 Honda Accord for 600 bucks with 15000 miles. Stock is a 1.8L ES2 motor that pumps out a blistering 86HP! Now with a little money put in to it my friends dyno put it at about somewhere around 100-108HP and I get about 6more MPG then when i first got it. Which is about 30 in the city and about 38 to 41MPG. Still I've got a savings account that is just itching to buy some vintage American muscle.

Cool

I bought a 98 civic with 28000 miles on it for $7500 last year. The guy I bought it from owns a detail shop and was using it as a show car before he gave it to his daughter for her 18th birthday. A year later he bought her a navagater (spoiled brat) and sold the car to me. Its a 1.8 - 4 banger, body kit, rims, custome fenders, under glow, racing chip, custom intake, high preformance sparks and wires, viper auto start and alarm, pioneer 5.5 hearts in the front and pioneer 6x9's in the back, vibe 1000 watt amp. To that I added panasonic face polate, autobon 1000 amp, vincentburg 1000 sub, custome blue and black interior.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong....

They didn't make a civic in 1998 with a 1.8 liter engine. Unless he swapped it out for a B18 (Which would be absolutely dope), it's probably a D16Y6 or a 1.6 liter single cam.

Damn I was reading the beginning of that hoping for an MX-6, the same as my Probe. Probes are basically MX-6's. same motor and drivetrain.

BTW my FULLY FUNCTIONAL 1991 Probe 3.0 V6 cost me 100 dollars and would spank a Civic 1.6, early Totyota Camry, 95 Neon, etc. etc. the list goes on and on (and will get much bigger after a CAI and exhaust and Garrett T3 with Greddy intercooler)
