| Etiquette & English Gentleman | Anyone here ever owned a Mini? (an IM conversation with Nev a little earlier prompted this thread, in case you're wondering). The attached pic is of 2 minis I used to have - "Snowy" (a 1977 1275) and "Poppy" (a 1986 City E) ... i'll see if I can find a pic of the green Clubman Estate later ![]() | |

| Own a mini cooper I got for my 18th bday. 1l engine but it was originally a cart racer so the engine is as good as a 1.3, reaches 70MPH in normal conditions, with copper wheels and cooper steering wheel (extra small for better turning), and has the petrol efficiency of a lorry . Also pictured is my mums Mini British Open Classic, limited edition, metalic green, with 1.3l engine and full length sunroof. My minis' name is Spike for now, untill a more suitable name shows itself. Mums is Francis, after my gran. | ||

C'mon Nev, calling the General Lee a hunk of junk is like calling Big Ben a big Swatch. It's part of American pop culture, and that sum bitch could jump distances of 300 yards flying about 100 yards high, land on pavement directly on the front end, and keep going at 100 MPH spinning the tires while it accelerated. Here's a pick I took of what is generally assumed to be the last "actual" General Lee (used in the show). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Etiquette & English Gentleman | I loved the Dukes of Hazzard - especially the way the General Lee could drop from huge heights, fold practically in half on landing, then be miraculously whole again in the next shot of Bo & Luke bouncing slightly in their seats I was too young for Daisy's hotpants to have any effect though ![]() | |

| Use to have a Mini at work, I drove it a few times. Interesting little cars, over the last two years they have started to grow on me. Now in NYC I see alot of the Minis around here, I think these Yanks like the little car. Before I would never have thought of buying one, but now with a Mini S model supercharged I have thought twice a few times. | ||

| Lol ill host a video of me getting inside if you want. ![]() It involves a head first approach, follwed by left leg, tucking under the wheel, with right hand on wheel and left on drivers seat. Once this postition is reached the pouring process occurs and the rest of me gets in the car by sliding onto the driver seat sideways. Once body is in, setbelt is put on and only then can i shut the door. Getting the key into the ignotion is done one way only - do it before I get in the car! As a bonus, my right knee operates the horn as I find out when shutting the door. ![]() | ||
