| I ride this bike like I'm in a million-dollar Ferrari, there aren't very many of these frames in America, only a handful of Ciocc SLX frames were imported here, fully upgraded they easily fetch 1000 on eBay. The last thing I want is for something to happen to it. They're handbuilt in Italy and have been ever since 1977. It really is a piece of cycling history, a hell of a collector's item. It gets new paint this month | ||

| not normally, but they came with it and I'm kind of trying them out before I go clips. There is a story behind this frame, it was found rusting away behind a bikeshop south of here a bit by some buds in our chopper club. It was on the operating table with three other frames, they were going to cut it up and make it into a chopper. At the last minute one of the members remembered I was looking for a decent road bike and spared it from certain doom. I got a call asking if I had wanted it and I was like, sure why not, free is free. I knew nothing of the manufacturer and when I went to go pick up the frame I started to realize what I was getting myself into, after some research I found I had a collector's item on my hands. Since then I've been upgrading everything. It's the fastest bicycle I have owned to date, dare I say it, it's faster than the Stingray and one of the most fun to ride, it turns a lot of heads at some of the railtrails here, many cyclists have asked me about it and where I got it, etc. This month I'm going to start breaking it down and prepping the frame for paint, most likely powdercoating since I want to save the chrome, and PC since it will be a rider and not collecting dust in my house. | ||

That's not saying much - if you _had_ a million-dollar Ferrari, you'd thrash the arse off to see how fast it went, and video yourself doing it ![]()

Now that's rich. Besides, who ever said I was riding this thing like an old lady, hahaha.I should rephrase that, I am much more careful when I'm traveling at the speed of Three Sheets to the Wind. I actually did once have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a 50,000 dollar 1986 Testarossa, wow what a machine. I could easily get prison time in a week with that thing if I got caught. @ X, I tried the BMX thing when I was younger and didn't like the idea of flying through the air on something with no mechanical propulsion or wings. But BMX got me into the mountain bike scene and stump/rock hopping, etc.

| I'm not into bicycles j-dogg, my taste in two wheels runs more towards 96 cubic inches. However, you are the only dude who makes me appreciate that there is a history and connoisseur sect in bicycles just like there are in classic cars. Nice find. | ||

Thanks. BTW I forgot to mention, this is a 1989 frame, the actual model is unknown but the way the frame tips the scales it says SLX which mean legendary Columbus Cro-Mor tubing. The similar TSX frame looks the same but it is heavier. Classic Italian steel is becoming a true collector's item and I think when I finish this build which isn't far from being done, I'm going to pick up either a Colnago frame or a De Rosa frame and build it up with Campagnolo drivetrain. Hell I might even pick up another Ciocc frame if I can find one that isn't 800 dollars. My father and I are getting our motorcycle permits in a couple months, he's probably going to get a Harley, I'm leaning toward a 600cc sport bike but who knows.
